Kayak appearal

Looking at clothing to use while kayaking, splash pants, water shoes.etc. I figure in the warmer summer months board shorts and flup.flops
Curious what appearal are you using while kayak fishing. Recommendations, places to buy. Maybe what not to use.

I am not a kayaker but don't use cotton for any activity where you might get wet or even sweaty otherwise you will basically be wearing a giant, heavy, wet dish rag.

Wool and most synthetic fabrics dry fast, the thinner, the faster drying. Choose SPF50 to protect from the sun.

^^appreciate the response. Looking for affordable splash pants and some type of breathable water shoe. I have some spf shirts wind breakers and rain coats.
I told the wife I do not want to wear denim jeans while kayaking. They will get wet and heavy, not to mention dry time and possibly freezing my butt off in these early months. I'd like something semi water repellant, light, comfortable, maybe something incan stack over other layers.
I've been checking out nrs, tw and Amazon. $250 is a bit steep for a pair of pants. I get it but nice buy once, but dang for that price can you make them to wear other than kayaking

If you are kayaking in the bay, it never gets that cold or hot there. When I have done some evening social kayaking in the bay, I would just wear nylon shorts, beach shoes, synthetic thin socks, a cycling jersey and packable waterproof windbreaker as a top. Never bought anything to wear specifically for kayaking and was perfectly comfortable. You can add a warm beanie and wool fingerless gloves if it is going to be cold or even some synthetic long underwear under the shorts and top (I have some blue stuff that doesn't look like underwear). If you do much outdoor activity, you probably have what you need already. Layering is a much better idea than buying heavy garments.

Nice thing about wool is that it adds warmth even when wet.

Found good deals on NRS paddle tops online, back when I was winter- wading in the surf to fish. The anorak style were the least expensive and worked well. But I have a 19 inch neck, so even the xxxl sizes didn't fit well. Just a caveat if you're a bigger guy...
