Duck hunting at Barrett

Post by falafeluver »

I know this is off topic but since duck hunting happens at B, I thought this would be ok. I’m not a hunter of any kind but just curious how hunting works at B.

Are the rental boats all used or private ones allowed?

How do they separate the hunters from cross firing?

Still allowed to fish? I assume there’s no poles allowed?

What’s the season, October to ?

Same hours as fishing?

What kinds of ducks are taken?

Limits?

Anything else to enlighten us readers would be great.

Pretty sure you can’t fish or if caught, it’s no bueno. Nothing like shot raining down from the sky. I see Shell casings on the ground or in the water on the shore. I imagine it’s like cuyamaca with blinds set up on different points or areas of shore access. Never seen it in person

Unlike fishing, the Warrens are always out there for waterfowl, checking for plugs, ammo, limits, and bags.
The separated blinds keep people from killing each other.
