Every year thousands of these would come out and be all over the garage door and driveway while trying to play basketball under the floodlight. Year in year out. They’re maybe 1/2” at most

OK, now that the Junebug thing has been discussed I have some other colors in the pumpkin variety of colors that I should test out. I remember the root beer color was really good years ago.

So anyway, great job on the fish! Sorry to highjack your thread. Maybe it's time to bring back the Otay Special worm next!

I have some original Delong Otay specials. Not many, but I remembered decades ago, boiling water, dropping them in there, pulling them out with a pair of pliers, stretching them, and putting them under cold water in the garage sink so they would be long and slinky. Always a great worm at any lake!Pourboy wrote: Sat Nov 23, 2024 12:18 pm So anyway, great job on the fish! Sorry to highjack your thread. Maybe it's time to bring back the Otay Special worm next!
My father and I would take a split shot and put it up the line and toss them at Miramar So they would sink slowly and land on top of all the grass on the bottom. Great memories

It’s funny I heard of them, but I don’t remember ever having any, but that sounds familiar.Pourboy wrote: Sat Nov 23, 2024 12:19 pmDo you remember Champagne Whiskey worms?VinnyBass wrote: Sat Nov 23, 2024 11:02 am OK, now that the Junebug thing has been discussed I have some other colors in the pumpkin variety of colors that I should test out. It was my favorite at Lake Poway for many years. A light pink/light pumpkin 2 color worm. Ah, the good ol' days.VinnyBass wrote: Sat Nov 23, 2024 1:03 pmIt’s funny I heard of them, but I don’t remember ever having any, but that sounds familiar.Pourboy wrote: Sat Nov 23, 2024 12:19 pmDo you remember Champagne Whiskey worms?VinnyBass wrote: Sat Nov 23, 2024 11:02 am OK, now that the Junebug thing has been discussed I have some other colors in the pumpkin variety of colors that I should test out. Anyone know where to get soft plastics in a Satan's fetus pattern? I am going on the theory that the uglier the bug, the more attractive to the fish. Also known as devil's baby, Jerusalem cricket and a host of other monikers.

I have seen them around and even in our pool where they go to drown themselves to release a parasite worm that feeds on them (see link above). Fortunately, we keep the pool well chlorinated so the worm doesn't survive.

Sorry but it's Pourboy's fault, he started it by changing the subject to June bugs, then Japanese beetles got in there, alcoholic drinks and now Satan's fetus.
