Re: World Series Piccks
According to the Conspiracy Theorists who say that MLB orchestrated the New York v LA World Series, it'll definitely go Game 7.

Re: World Series Piccks
Of course the MLB wants the biggest draw possible for the big series… But I think it’s a streatch, that they influenced the outcome of the play offs… The two teams at the top of their leagues are in the WS.. Did rules change earlier that changed how teams and certain players are affected, sure… Ask me, go back to pre-play offs, and the two teams that have the best year long record, go to the series… I enjoy all of the playoff games, but you don’t always get the best teams n the WS..Just who's “hot” at the time..

What happened? Why didn't the Padres throw a wrench into the MLB conspiracy's gears?StinkyPinky23 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 1:32 pm IMG_3091.pngLike he says below, any baseball fan knows MLB doesn’t care and makes zero effort to market its best players, ever. This wasn’t promoting those two players. They had a 6 month season to do that! Orchestrated? That’s a stretch. Influenced? Only an idiot thinks sports aren’t driven by Vegas. Last year MLB took a beating with the World Series ratings, because boo hoo the diamondbacks were in it. That wasn’t gonna happen two years in a row. Imagine a Padres-Tigers series?!MLB would be devastated
I see Padres fans are still butt hurt.
Barrett opener is in a few months guys. Go make sure your knots are tied tight, unless you conceive a DFW conspiracy as well.

Don't they have another professional team to focus on now?
OH wait.

Re: World Series Piccks
This is a dream come true for the TV networks. Everyone knows that the networks are very happy and will make tons of money via
advertising dollars on all the commercials that will be on during this east coast vs west coast battle. I predict it may be one of the
largest TV audiences to view a World Series in years.
I usually have a loyalty to National League teams, but sorry Butch, not during this series.
Go Yankees!

Born in San Diego and usually always support the National league, but it is just the LA thing I guess since the PadresMidnightpass wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2024 7:16 pmVinny… Vinny…. Go Dodgers…
always had the Dodgers as their rival. After having season tickets to the Chargers for 23 years(lots of $$ spent there..ha ha)
and them going to LA did not feel good either. Even in basketball, I do not like the Lakers and actually root for the Golden
State Warriors. It is just something that has carried on over the years. Believe it or not during the 1977 World Series
I actually rooted for the Yankees(and bet on them....can I say that?) and took a lotta crap from my friends.
Myself being left handed and then Reggie Jackson having a great series was exciting and making about $100 back then
where it seemed like $500...was the icing on the cake.
Anyway...it will be a great series.

All I can say guys… If it was the Padres and the Yanks…. I wouldn’t be rooting for NY… But, then, I don’t have a lot of angst for anything San Diego… I love the whole place… Well, maybe I don’t love the Padres
.. But I don’t hate them…

Re: World Series Piccks
Boy, I’ll say.. Happy for Freeman.. He’s had a tough year, I hope this makes up for just a little bit of it.. 1st walkoff grandslam in World Series History… Good pitching and some dazzling fielding made it close and low scoring… I hope you guys dislike of the teams didn’t prevent you from watching a great grame.. If it did, you missed something…

I hope he is ok… It was a bit nerve wracking watching that last inning, but that makes for good baseball…DarkShadow wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2024 9:21 pm Live look into the Dodger's trainer's room after tonight's game:

I smell a sweep.
Got to hand it to the Dodgers as I thought the Yankees had a pretty darn good team, but LA is proving that wrong.

Re: World Series Piccks
Guess I was wrong about the sweep. Winning one is always better than winning none. Being down 0-3 and after tonight
now would have to win 3 in a row. Not very likely.
