10/15-Lake Murray

Post by VinnyBass »

I gave you guys a nice 14 day vacation from me posting reports from Lake Murray, but sorry, it's time to post again. I will try to keep it brief(ha ha... @Mcfish knows that is not going to happen).
Hit Murray late morning and pulled in a small bass on a reaction bait waiting for any surface action to start. The surface finally started to go off after 9 and while most fish were up and down pretty fast as I started to pick up a few here and there. As the morning got later the bite was a little better but mostly small ones and clones. Used an assortment of reaction baits because the bass had tons of shad to chase around and eat so I had to work a little harder than previous trips. Again most were clones but my best fish went 3 1/2lbs on a Damiki Blade.
Still always fun to get out on the water and hey guys, the bass are still active.....even at that small pond many call Murray. :-)

Most bass were small or clones

Now why couldn't all the bass be like this? ha ha

The gut was solid....full of shad no doubt!

I know people get tired of seeing my Murray posts, so I gave everyone a much needed 2 week hiatus.
Anyway....all in the name of having fun and bass fishing. I'm back..:-)
Tight lines buddy.

Thank you. That is a good point.
Just to share a comment from a guy on the old SDFish:

You seem like a nice guy, Vinny, but I don't think most folks reading your reports give a damn about all you write and the other nonsense you put in your post.
Get a live, Dude.

He did not like my sense of humor and I don't like conflict, but I guess if he didn't click on my posts, he wouldn't been better off....ha ha
Anyway...a few guys kind of told him what they think.

Wow!! There’s a case of undeserved self importance and I bet the regulars gave him heck. Just keep scrolling if you aren’t interested. Sheesh 🤦🏼‍♂️

Honestly I wish more guys were posting reports like you VB, especially to help make decisions on body of water choice and tactics.

No, you were one cool guy, but that Mr. Chatterbaits just seemed a little uptight.
Tight lines always to you buddy. :-)

Bite at Murray was slower this morning but still there. The larger bass are stuffed to the gills with shad.

Plenty of aggressive dinks in the tules early in the AM.

Hey, it was great meeting and chatting with you this morning. Yeah, those bass were a little finicky as I was picking up just a handful before I ran into you out on the water. Glad that you found some action out there. Where you saw me out in deeper water it was absolutely crazy for a while. I would’ve called you if I knew your number to come over there quickly. On back to back casts I caught bass two different times and every time bass were busting they would just slam whatever I threw out there. It was pretty cool. It was really late 1130 on and even after 12 they were going crazy. I stayed there pretty long after you left just to pick up a few more.
Anyway, nice job out there and tight lines always!
