Sunday 9-22…2024 Finale

Headed out right about 5:30 but the moon and cloudless sky made things pretty visible. Decided to stay in Hauser for the day and started in the coves on the north side to the right of the portapotty. Seemed like a good call as I got a first cast jerkbait fish followed by two more within 10 minutes. Continued almost into Becky’s where the minnow and senkos got into play. Decided to go farther back but worked our way out along the submergerged peninsula to the tree tops in the middle where a baby brush hog worked for one. That concluded the superfecta for my opening tied on baits and I never strayed from them the rest of the day. Maybe a first. The warmer, sunny day seemed to shut down the bite after 9 for us and at least two other boats and it was work after that getting onesy twosy here and there. . We called it about 2, hesitating to leave early on our last day of the year. 54 total for Dan and I and we tied at 27 fish each. Best was 3.2 with a good number in the 2’s. Not as many super dinks but lots of one pounders that will create a great future class. Dan’s baits were the minnow, senkos, grubs, an eeliminator, and a small lizard.
