Montana Trout Fishing Trip!

Montana Trout Fishing: Madison River, Gallatin River and Creeks

Hey all I hope the fishing has been good for you this summer last week. I had the opportunity to go to Ennis Montana for the first time and have some absolutely spectacular trout fishing. After arriving in Montana, we headed to our cabin near the town of Ennis made it to the Madison River Fishing Company Fly Shop. After stocking up on the local necessities and a few groceries, of course we headed home for a fantastic meal to talk about the week to come and prepare our gear.

The next morning we sat out and fished the Madison river, which I had never never fished before or anything even in Montana.. After having some success there, we spend the next few days fishing different parts of that river, the Gallatin river and then happened upon a creek. We weren’t supposed to know about.

After returning one night from the Gallatin river, my brother and I stopped to find a beer and possibly some food at a local dive. At 7 PM people were already in the bag and it was getting loud. After having a conversation with a local guide who is well passed his legal limit. We said that we were looking for a place to catch some great fish. He let us know about a local spot that he was supposed to tell anybody about . I promise that I would keep it a secret as far as the location is concerned but you can see in the video. We had some absolutely spectacular cutthroat fishing on that creek. We caught up to 24 inches long and in numbers as well this is the first video About the first three days of our trip the next video will be exclusively about the creek featured at the end. I even managed to check the box. I’m catching one of my fish. I’ve always wanted to catch, which is an arctic Grayling. Check out the video if you like for more details. Cheers!

The quality was there for sure! I can't wait to get back there. Part 2 of The Secret Creek will be out soon with the rest of the trip. No small fish in that one. Cheers!

I do a Wyoming/Montana/and or Idaho trip every year, and the hardest part is coming back.

I usually put away my fly rods for months after trips like these, because it definitely leaves a lot to be desired, living in a desert like we do in SoCal.

Hey I get that for sure. I did have great success with my flyrod there but also love coming home to the fishing that I know here. I know many people who flyfish here in the bays and lakes but to me it's not quite the same as a stream or river. Cheers! And yes, it was very hard to walk away from that fishing.

Nice video!
I always enjoy my trips up there. I'm not that good at fly fishing but try, then go to my spinning outfit.

Thanks for checking it out! I did kind of the opposite this time. I started with spinning and then went to fly stuff. The second part of this video will be out tomorrow. More fly fishing in that one. Cheers!

p.s. and my PB Arctic Grayling and Cutthroat!

I do love my bass fishing but I really want to do a trip like that. Those fish are like finding jewels in the water. Great video Chris.
