Hodges 8/28
Was heading over to Barrett but woke up late and since I was already packed up I made the short drive over to Hodges. There was not many people fishing and most probably stayed away due to the tough conditions out there. I made a beeline to the dam and started throwing cranks on my BFS set up. Got a few to cooperate. If you are down that way please be very careful with the drawdown of water again there are many rocks that are just below the waterline and could severly cripple your trolling motor. There are also rocks above the waterline i never knew existed.

I think we might have similar pontoon tubes. Colorado Classic. I made mine to sit up out of the water also.

If they keep taking water out, we might go shopping for all the lost lures. I swear that lake has more of my tackle than any.

It now owns my trick anchor and dive reel it was attached to. What a bonehead thing to do as im ordering a new one. First thing in the morning I was rounding the corner at Del dios arm when my deep diving crank stopped. I had hooked someones line. As im hauling in this braid and cussing to myself about the angler who left it I was convinced that there was still a fish or the rod itself still attached. I pulled in about 150 yards of 20 - 30 lb braid but to my chagrin only found a stick at the end of the line after all that work.Early release wrote: Thu Aug 29, 2024 11:08 am If they keep taking water out, we might go shopping for all the lost lures. Re: Hodges 8/28
Back in the 80’s two buddies and I fished Hodges every Wednesday as we all had Wednesdays off and it was our preferred lake, we would fish the dam for shore where the the overflow was and if we could cast to the ledge where the deep water was it would produce a bass every time and between my buddies and I there must be a bass pro shops worth of tackle and if they scooped up just the Lil’George’s they use could use it to fix the dam, HaHa, thanks for the memories.
