Hodges PB

Post by TATomlinson »

Hey everyone, not new to the forum but new to posting. I went out to Hodges with the goal of catching a PB. After grinding away for a couple of hours, I met another fisherman who was having some luck with crank baits. I have zero confidence with crank baits but patterns are patterns so I tied on a 6th Sense Cloud 9. A few casts later, I landed my PB. 6.23 pounds. I’ve been bass fishing for 40 years and caught hundreds of fish in the 3-4 pound range. Not shure why I haven’t been able to break the 6 pound mark until now. My guess is that I never throw crank baits.

Very cool, congrats my PB is 6+1/2 lb and I caught it in the 80’s, like you I've caught lots of 3 and 4 pounders but I haven’t gotten close to 6lb in 40 years, we’re practically twins ha ha. I caught it at Otay 3 days before the NEW MOON.
All we can do is keep trying.
THANKS FOR YOUR POST.
Hopefully you won’t have to wait as long as I have to add on to my PB.
Keep on casting it’s the only way.

I told my wife I was going to Hodges to catch a PB. Took the Go Pro so I could get a picture. I was lucky my scale still had batteries with juice.

Great job out there not only on the PB but gaining confidence with the baits. Cheer!

Chris, I met you out at Hodges the first time I went. You told me there were some tanks out there.
