Months ago,I got a Jackall Gantarel Jr as part of a deal selling a rod and it has never touched the water. While waiting for my buddy Larry to launch his boat I made a few casts near the boat ramp and was surprised when a small bass slammed it. I was amazed a small bass would hit it and yet so jazzed that if I went home right then I would been all smiles. Of course I did not go home and very quickly was out looking for shad balls in the middle of the lake. To keep it short and simple, I just fished out in deep water and stuck to reaction baits and never tossed any worms or creature baits. Ended up having 3 bass come unbuttoned, but landed 11 bass this morning and a bluegill. (pretty short report eh @Mcfish ?)
Just a few random pics...
Bass must have been pretty hungry to hit this swimbait

what blade bait is that?
It is a Damiki Vault Blade Bait.

My Damiki’s have a blade in place of that back treble. I should probably switch that out for another treble as there’s already plenty of flash and vibration.

Don't.....well you can do what you want, but I actually have removed the treble hook from some of my Damiki Vaults and attached
a blade. I think it helps the action look more like a shad just like the blade you use on a spinner bait. Either way, the thing
does work with a blade or without, but it just took me time to actually keep it on the end of my line in the past as I get too impatient
if I don't catch a fish right away....ha ha. My buddy Joe years ago was catching fish on them in my boat and I just never kept it on long
enough but I have been a little more patient recently as they do catch bass.
With blade I attached...

Thanks for giving me something to do as it has
been fun. Funny, I never caught any of those
fish on a drop shot. So I guess the fish you caught on the 2” worms you use on your drop shots were really small when you caught them and they grew up over the years.

Just looks like a fancy Lil George...
Oh yeah, those Lil Georges used to be a great
little baits. I think I might even have a few somewhere in my garage. Maybe it’s time to bring them out and get them back in the water.
Funny I was tackle organizing and found a few Lil’Gorges and it brought back memories of Hodges back in the 70’s by the dam casting them out deep and bringing in lots of bass, there was a time it was my favorite lure, I’m going to take them with me next time I go.

Yeah, the Lil' George has been a forgotten lure for me also, but I remember how well it worked many years ago, especially when bass
were feeding on shad. I always remember being in the back of Harvey's arm at Otay and would toss one just past some busting bass
and while cranking it in....bam!... a bass would slam it.
