I had to post this. I watched the whole video which I normally do not do. So much action. Dude is chasing HUGE boils after boils and killing it. Not an over exaggeration by calling this EPIC! Wow!

We've been fishing the Pyramid and Castaic striper boils for about 3 weeks now. It's always a fun bite.

We ran into some nice boils today at Castaic, but the stripers were being a little finicky. While we did get a ton to go, it wasn't WFO by any chance. It seems that when they key in on the small shad or silversides, they will ignore your traditional larger topwater baits.

Remember, according to DFW, it wasn't the stripers that ruined Silverwood, Castaic, DVL, etc. The fact that when the stripers took hold was the exact time the fisheries were ruined is just a coincidence.

While I love stripers, I think they belong in their native waterways, or in impoundments so large that they won't bring an in-balance to a fishery, like the reservoirs out in the South and East. They're a saltwater predator for a reason.

Too bad you can rotenone an entire lake and start over, like they do to creeks when they find out that the random stockings of yesteryear obliterated the lineage of native species. (I'm looking at you, Silver Creek)
