New Seaforth Twilight 6/23
Excited by the recent fishing reports, I booked a spot on the Twilight trip on New Seaforth. Captain mentioned occasional yellowtail catch on fly lined sardines as stick baits. On the way to the fishing grounds, captain already spotted yellowtail action, fish boiling on the surface. I was super lucky and got bit on a fly lined sardine. I was using 25 lb set up, captain's recommendation was to use 30-40 lb, I was a little nervous. It peeled tons of line but eventually I managed to land it. Total of 4 yellowtail landed and another 3-4 hooked that were lost. Mine weighed 30lb on the hand scale, one of the bigger ones weighed 35lb.
