I had fun with this, It's ok to say it's stupid or I should just get a boat or whatever. Maybe it gives some ideas. LOL.
There is an alternate full-length outrigger setup I made and this is not the final adjustment on this one.
About 6 miles an hour is what it will do. I had it out on the bay in nasty waves and winds and outgoing tide and felt safe until my bait tank overflowed and plugged the scupper holes with sardines filling the tank well with even more water and it was higher than the rear hatch.
There is a possibility that it will rip the kayak apart. The catamaran setup seems bulletproof due to connections at the front and back of the kayak... a bit of an ordeal setting up and breaking down though. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1M_rQdA ... sp=sharing

Re: Kayak 2.5 Suzuki / Spot lock mod.
Hi Dave, I'll fumble around with that and see what I can do. First I am going to try with what pictures I can find. Here is the setup for the full outrigger. When I use the small outriggers the motor mount is very similar but none of the parallel to the kayak rigging you see. ] I have never been as good with this site as the old one. Let's see. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1R9vZxr ... sp=sharing

This is the setup from the video in the first post. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Z9L ... sharingThe motor is only 31 pounds with 1/4 gallon of gas. I think it will flip easily with no outriggers at all. It is only slightly less solid against flipping compared to the outriggers with no motor but still more stable than the Kayak in stock condition(no outriggers at all).
I wouldn't take the double outriggers out in the ocean with the outboard, but probably yes with the single one. Everyone's risk tolerance varies of course.

I like the engineering on this setup with the full outrigger, thanks for sharing that. I have some thinking to do now.
