Back to back casts 5/17
Like @VinnyBass I figure you are all tired of seeing my Murray posts. Still, I thought I'd share a couple of pics of a decent bass and a large bluegill caught on consecutive casts with the same bait. Fun!

Very nice. Looks that big bluegill hasn't come up shallow enough to get much color yet.
Fishing tales told here - some true.

Great job out there as always. I can't wait to get on some big bluegill soon. Hopefully at Barrett on Sunday! It looks like you were using the same bait from your big one at Hodges not too long ago. I look forward to seeing you on the water again soon. Cheers!

Well heck @Dannicus .....since you already posted a Murray report...I will slip something
in. It was very fun running into you and sharing fishing stories on Thursday while each of us even caught a few bass.
Amazing how many stories fellow fishermen can share with each other. Nice job out there on back to back casts.
Anyway, I hope it is ok to share my "back to back" catches. Actually, I have caught bass on a topwater bait in
back to back trips to Murray. Hopefully a sign that topwater action is right around the corner.
Tight lines always

Not sure you were BFS’ing on those two beauts but I finally got my Ark BFS reel you recommended into some sustained action at Barrett last Saturday and was loving it. Was throwing a 1/16oz jighead w a minnow pinned on. Man it cast super easy and fighting the typical Barrett schoolie was a blast. Still getting used to that clicking drag tho.Dannicus wrote: Sat May 18, 2024 7:53 am Like @VinnyBass I figure you are all tired of seeing my Murray posts. Re: Back to back casts 5/17
I was fishing my Ark gravity BFS on a Dobyns 701c. I have a new favorite rig. It's a #2 light wire ewg hook. I Texas rig it with a 1/16 oz Nako bullet weight which I peg it with a couple of bobber stops above and below the weight. I usually keep the weight about 1/4" away from the hook.
These were both caught on a ZMan TRD ned bait. But I also use the rig for TRD craws, mini brush hogs, robo worms etc. I've caught a ton of fish on it. I think @VinnyBass took a picture of it last time we spoke. It's a tiny rig but I've caught quite a few 3 and 4 pounders on it as well, so it's mini-mighty!

Re: Back to back casts 5/17
Thanks Vinny! Yeah guys I can't begin to tell you how many fish that this rig has produced for me! Because of the that small gap elaztech baits stand up really nicely, and it really comes through rocks and cover well.
