Thank You

Post by CaptJamesNelson »

I really want to extend a huge Thank You to the SDFish community for bringing me on here.
Although I seem to be mostly a guitar builder these days, I haven't gone anywhere yet. I just renewed my Captain's License for another 5 years. Yes, I am still guiding. Expect pics and reports as the season progresses.
Many Blessings,
James

My guitar biz is Dood Craft Guitars.
I make mostly customs, but occasionally kick out stock. Currently ElCajon Guitars has a Baritone one in their shop.
Thanks for asking.
Do you play?
Many Blessings,
James

Thanks. It still is killer. That's the one currently at ElCajon Guitars. Ask Frank to show it to you. I build a lot of conversion necks. Baritones are the way.
Many Blessings,
James

I am not sure. My old downtown El Cajon memories are vague at best. ;-) ;-)

SD Bay Best Tides For Fishing?

Post by pescado paul »

Hi Captain,

In your experience, what sort of tides are best for fishing The Big Bay? I have had my best success fishing the incoming tide when there is a tidal exchange of 4 ft or more. Do tides effect the Back Bay the same way they do the area North of the Coronado Bridge? How about fishing the ebb tide? Do different lures/techniques work better during particular tide stages?

Thanks,

Paul

Paul,
Most of my scheduled trips as a guide do not include us picking and choosing tides. The customers have an itinerary once they are here, and flight schedules going home. Therefore, I have learned you can catch fish anytime. Tidal flow is always better, but when you are stuck in an ebb, I found that lighter lures, fished slower, slathered in UniButter, and/or tipped with meat, will get bit.
Many Blessings,
James
