Barrett opener kayak report
Met Dave and Joe and was on the water @4 am thanks to Jose getting the crowd in, it was busy.
Headed to Hauser and started with the popper in the dark and got a nice 5lb on the second cast. Top water was working all day for me, popper and crawler. Did find some busters on jb. Similar to last year, it’s about the location and time of month, lots of new areas to explore due to high water levels. Going to be another fun year, ended with 40+ lost @10 due to barbless. Water temps were 74 when I let@2pm.

Sweet! I'm glad to see the topwater bite turned on. Looks like a good day out there.
When i fished with the SHARE program, the only busting fish were extremely small, as was the bait they were feeding on. I left those fish alone for better quality.

Hey Chuck, it's awesome that the Pompadour was working for you. That lure amuses me and the blowups on it are even better than whopper plopper blowups.

It’s the noise and slow twitch that gets them. The bigger crawler like the I-wing draws the bigger fish

Well done.
Y'all look bundled up in these reports. What were the air temps like in those wee hours of the morning? I'm in on Sunday. Can't wait.
