Opening Day 2024 at the Big B
Had a lot of fun today at the Big B. I would call it quality over quantity. We still got about 60 between us that included a dozen four pounders and a nice five pounder. A lot of three pounders also. The topwater bite was just okay on the PopR and the whopper plopper. I switched to the flipping the senko and the fat ika and things definitely picked up. But what really kicked in for the bigger fish was drop shotting the margarita mutilator in deeper water. Beautiful day but us old dudes wrapped it up at 2pm.

Nice job out there!
The Barrett fest has officially begun.
Looks like you guys had a lot of fun.
Too bad all the lakes are not like Barrett.

Excellent! I expected nothing less from “Big C” and company. I’ll be happy if I do half as good on Saturday.

Re: Opening Day 2024 at the Big B
A couple observations from yesterday. I think the lake is real healthy. The bass are chunky, even the smaller ones. There are occasionally huge balls of shad appearing. The water looks great. Since the lake is so full there is a ton of submerged brush and you can get hung up easily. Some anglers did real well and others not so much. Been fishing the Big B twenty years now and still a blast.

You had the same report that I had a month ago! Those fish are healthy and the lake is looking great.

Great report and very similar sentiment to my outing yesterday. Nice work.
