Re: Are you smarter than a fish?

Ahaha. I fish at a pond near my house. Sometimes you get in some strange positions to catch a fish and one time I was holding on to a tree with one hand and planning to cast and then use my leg to hold on to the tree. I don't know why that seemed reasonable, I do things I don't always understand ...

San V 12/21 damn weathermen

Headed out to San V yesterday all geared up and ready for a rainy, windy, overcast day only to find blue skies and no wind ☹️ Ran to Barona and immediately had fish breaking in the bushes and just outside of them. Missed 4 fish on a small fluke, including one that sharked it from about 40’ away all ...

San V 2/5 Looking for Noah

After listening to the local news last night I headed out this morning half expecting to find Noah and his Ark out there to avoid the flooding!

Pretty sunrise this morning and only two other boats out when I launched and according to the worker at the ramp they left fairly early so I was, literally ...

Re: Yuma PB

Its been years since I caught a double digit bass. I saw a fish that looked decent sized. I jigged the area for a while with no bites. I grabbed another rod with a slug. Twitched it through the trees, and BAM! Now im fighting a giant. I kept expecting her to come off because she was so big. She ...

5/9-Couple of Firsts at Murray

A couple recent trips to Murray resulted in a handful of small bass(McFish would be proud
as I gave in and used drop-shot) and a couple of nicer fish on reaction baits.
Anyway, I just wanted to share a few firsts of the year with you as today's trip produced my
first topwater bass of the year. Saw ...

Re: The City of San Diego is at it again!

Unbelievable but not. Big government’s reckless spending comes to this. All starts with your vote.

8/28-Mixing it up

Yeah, I know you guys are tired of my Lake Murray reports, but I tried to make it a little more interesting.
I decided to first try to catch a few bass on hard topwater baits. I put on a little Zara Puppy(Spook) since Dannicus , CorsoEnthusiast and a few others said to throw smaller baits. I ...

San Vicente Late Summer Bass

San Vicente Reservoir: Late Summer Bass Fishing
https://youtu.be/Ux_Jf_YhsCI

Do you know where I haven’t been in a long time? San Vicente. I was thinking about where the fish and I realized I hadn’t been there since they raised the lake. So I got out on the water first thing and realized I’m kind ...

10/15-Lake Murray

I gave you guys a nice 14 day vacation from me posting reports from Lake Murray, but sorry, it's time to post again. I will try to keep it brief(ha ha... Mcfish knows that is not going to happen).
Hit Murray late morning and pulled in a small bass on a reaction bait waiting for any surface action ...

Nov- Murray & Thanksgiving wishes

IMG_7668 2.PNG

Thought this was a perfect photo to show of me flying down Lake Murray blvd with my truck and boat instead of posting pics of small (and even tiny) bass I have caught recently at Lake Murray.
Actually I have not fished much at all this month and yeah recently at Murray caught one ...

How'd you get you PB?

Mine was on a Spro popper frog, about 8 years back, and she slurped it in, no explosion. Big ones don't need to explode on it, they just swim under it, open up the gills, flush a gallon of water in and anything in it, and swim off with a swagger. AKA a toilet flush. You know she's big at that point ...

4/23-Thanks Dad

Today would have been my father's birthday so I kept to a tradition to go fishing today in his honor. I was so fortunate as a kid growing up as my father took me fishing almost every weekend. I always remember being so excited that I would wake up an hour or two early and could not go back to sleep ...

Re: 4/23-Thanks Dad

Here’s to a great father taking you fishing on the weekends, you’ve turned into one of the better fishermen.
I thank your dad for teaching you to share with others.

Sometimes its not the fish...

Not always the fish as the focus of the trip...today it was the background and just being outside after a really hard day at work.

Back beyond the Vail

Not really though, right at the Vail lake...I know its not SD, but closer than most of the city lakes for me. Anyway, I decided to give the frog a fair shot and it was super fun...after falling down on the hillside by the boat launch (not really the right name since boats are not allowed) I got my ...

Re: 9/3- Quick SD River

Nice! I have to ask, what heat?

OK....you are right!
Today was the coolest day in a while....got up to 80 degrees which is a lot better than
weather in the 90's. Another warming trend ahead for next week. I wish I was young
again because the weather never bothered me. It is mostly the hauling ...

Parker Lake (June Lake Area) 7/1

Parker Lake is a short hike out of the June Lake area, holds browns and brookies for the most part. I did see a few rainbows. It's not stocked regularly so not sure how they are there.

Mammoth teaser...first trip of summer

I try to do twenty days a year in the Sierra, splitting them between summer and fall. I normally enjoy the fall trip the most because of less crowds and cooler water temps..plus Crowley fish tend to move shallower in Sept-Oct..! This trip started out fun, hit up Lake Mary, caught some pretty fish ...

Can you believe it? San Vicente Jun 5th

Hard to believe that today was my first time out this year. After going my whole life with excellent health, things have gone from bad to since I turned eighty. I really wanted to get out, actually I needed to get out. I got my boat out of mothballs and found that my trolling motor wasn't working. I ...
