Re: Barrett report August 23rd

Thanks for the report Dave. That was the highlight of the day catching them on the donkey rig.

Re: Barrett report August 23rd

Chuck said it was slow and it sure was. Ended with five or six on top but very nice models. Jules said a bunch of guys reported skunks.

Yes, Lori’s husband dragged the roads after the rain. They have a small window to do it while it’s damp she said.

Re: Barrett report August 23rd

Thanks for the reports guys and great news on the road! It was bad. As for the slow bite, El Cap on Tuesday was similar. The fish were around, just not biting much of anything we threw. It may well have been the new water and post high winds. The clarity wasn’t bad so maybe temps dropped.

Slow and Hot 8-30

Well slow for us anyway. Got on it early. A far cry from the lightning storm of last trip. Water was down at least 2-3 feet from then too. Guess they expected a monsoon from Hilary and let a bunch go. Best call was the kid throwing a white spinnerbait putting me down by 4 right out of the gate ...

Re: Slow and Hot 8-30

Thanks for the report, I think it might be changing a bit on the busters. I'm going to try some other methods this weekend and I'll report. Last week I could see them coming up on the scope, but they'd stop short or boil for a couple seconds and go down. I saw a lot of fish lower in the water ...

Re: Slow and Hot 8-30

Hi John,

I couldn't make it yesterday, I had to actually work. :( I'm going to try vertical jigging in deeper water. In the main lake it's 100 feet deep and there's a thermocline that seems to be holding bigger fish. I'll let you know, but I'm still chasing the busters, because that's the most ...

Wednesday 30 kayak report

Got there @5:30, and you can feel the heat coming. Headed back to Hauser picking up one on popper, another on a crawler. Very slow until busters came up, five other boats around and we sat waited for them to bust around us. It was fun if you can land on top of them, jerk bait and flukes worked for ...

A bit different today! Sept 2

The lake seemed a bit different today! First, my 7 and 9 year old sons fished the pants off of me and my buddy. Largely because they realized fairly quickly that the Crappie and Blue Gill were big and biting, while the bass fishing was more slow going (for us) than in recent visits. They landed 18 ...

Re: A bit different today! Sept 2

Hey! Was a lot of fun hearing your kids tell us about their day when we were cleaning up after a fun day of fishing. Those two boys were so stoked and it takes me back to the times my dad took me fishing as a kid. I still feel like those two boys did after a good day of fishing (heck, even a bad day ...

Re: Barrett report September 16th

Nice to meet you at the launch Early release. Not sure what time that was, but getting there late put me somewhere between a pattern and a grind. Got 6 or 7 bass and 3 big bluegills working around main lake points with the jerk bait and three better but not big fish, on the A-rig in about 15 feet of ...

Re: Barrett report September 20th

Similar to your report Dave, I did get 4.7lb on a jig and 3.2 on flukes. Ended with 7 bass, cooler weather definitely effect the bite.

Re: Barrett report September 20th

I was there. We did pretty good. 50 fish between two kayakers.
Lots of solid 3 lb fish. Biggest for me would be a 5 lber followed by a 4.
A Rig and glide bait.
The bite has picked up for me since last time I was there.
