Re: El Cap Nov 2 report

Awesome! I’m at the gas pump right now and heading down.

I'm guessing you mean the 7/11, just a quick recommendation, after our fishing day we ate at the Mexican Restaurant in that complex, it's excellent and really well priced.

This too! Los Rancheritos is excellent and their portions are ...

Re: El Cap Nov 2 report

Great getting out there and getting some fish. I ended up with 5 landed and a couple others came off. It was super fun getting out there. I got 1 jig, 1 walking bait and the rest on the magic swimmer. We ended up leaving around 1pm. Yes, the Mexican food was awesome! The bean and cheese burrito was ...

Nope, not a normal Sunday thing. Just forces brought us together on that day. Cheers!

Murray 11/4

Fun day at the Murr today. Nothing big, but final count was 9. They seemed really pissed off today, fighting like crazy on my BFS gear, so even without that DD it was still a lot of fun.

Re: El Cap Nov 2 report

Hi Vinny, I pretty much only can get a couple things there, and pretend I'm still a vegetarian although it's a pleasant fiction since the bean burrito or tostada is full of pork lard. I think it's legitimately good. Can't believe your circuit for fishing. I need a nap after a morning fish session ...

Nov 12-Quick River trip

Was on vacation and between doing lots around the house have not been fishing much. Yeah caught some dinks the week before last at Murray, but nothing to get too excited about. Since I haven't posted for a while, I decided to post a quick report from fishing the SD River this morning. The water has ...

Utah Vaca

Made I way around Utah not much fishing but did hit strawberry reservoir and provo river for a few. Strawberry was hoping for some cutthroat, only rainbows. Could catch them all day if you wanted, nothing big. Weather got cold and rainy with snow not to far off. Went to provo river resort camping ...

5/28-Another Murray cat

Just thought I would share another cat I caught at Murray while fishing for bass on a spoon. This one weighed right around 7 1/2lbs. I thought it was a bass at first, but then the way it was fighting knew it was probably a cat. Anyway....it was a fun fight on a light rod with 8lb fluoro.

6/13- Murray

Just a pic of my third cat I have caught while fishing for bass at Lake Murray. This one gobbled up a brush hog. It took about 20 seconds
as I was thinking it was a nice bass, but soon realized it was probably a cat. This was the smallest of the 3 and weighed 6.75lbs.
The point east of the boat dock ...

Re: Otay Ultralight 11/25

Those are some great bluegills. What did you catch them on?

I have a simple Garmin Striker 4 on my float tube, but I wasn't really actively targeting them with it. Not like the guys with forward facing sonar anyway. I was out-fishing all of them by the way. They were hover strolling and ...

Re: Otay Ultralight 11/25

Very nice it sounds like you had tons of fun out there, THANK YOU for the report and sure you'll enjoy those tacos! I'm glad most people would rather fish for bass. I found schools of gills from my kayak in 20' off the main lake flats at El Cap on Saturday. Not big ones but fun size on light gear ...

Murray 11/29

I fished Murray yesterday for Bass and it was a slog. Five hours to drum up a few dinks. I had so much fun at Otay last weekend I decided to go back to Murray today with ultralight gear and hooked up with a mess of really nice fat Bluegills.

I am really getting hooked on ultralight fishing.

Last day of 2023...EPIC

My last day of fishing for 2023 was awesome. Landed 10 huge Bluegills in a couple of hours. I was pulling a 2" sinking twitch bait and for a while-getting bit on every cast!

San Vee 4/17

Arrived about 6:15 to a lite crowd.
Started beautiful, then came the fog and wind for a while.
That blew thru and become super nice.
Checked a couple spots for nothing, then found a brush pile loaded with bluegill. Caught 25 released 8 smaller ones.
Good day on the lake

El Capitan Bluegill 10-26-25

Fished at El Capitan in the kayak on Sunday in calm sunny Fall conditions. Bluegill!

The bass were crashing around on top here and there, until early afternoon. They were very picky about eating. Fun watching and following the packs of them hunting in open water on the electronics, and I had a few ...

Tide Swing Spotties 11-26

Thought a 7ft tide swing might have them on the chew and wasn’t disappointed. Got 11 feisty biters before the lack of water on our spots chilled the bite. Did move around some docks for 3 late ones but were off the water by 11. Small colorful curly tail plastics on underspins and a bronze Damiki ...
