Re: How much of a workout is float tubing?
Bring some pickle juice. The calf and hammy cramps can be epic and hit with zero warning. It’s pretty hilarious when you’re in a group of buddies.

Re: Lure making and modification over the years has taught me a lot
But again, this forum is for SD area fishermen and women per ADMIN. A lot of us in SD who are “idiots” for fishing realistic looking swimbaits per OP. People can hide and change their screen name, it doesn’t matter.

Re: Barrett report May 17th
Nice car and a half width, smooth clean “ramp” into the water. Water is above where the road used to take a hard left into the cove. All the parking is perpendicular to the cove, leaving pigs main road into the water open. People were mostly wheeling kayaks to the ramp. Some guys backed up at the ...

Re: otay sucks bad!!!
This time of year, I’ve never been skunked at Otay throwing the hudd. NEVER. Went on a sea trial yesterday there, brought the rods and fished all day. Not even a bump.

Re: 5/19-You know where I went....
Those are awesome! Actually made for someone missing an arm. You set the hook with your leg. I bought one for a friend who always wanted to fish but lost an arm when he was younger. They even make a one handed knot jig. Pretty cool. Definitely googan status of you have both your arms

Re: Barrett Report - May 21st 🔥
Nice! I think sometimes people get hung up on covering water there. I’ve had days where making the same cast over and over produced 30-40 fish off one “spot”
So true, I remember one year, the bushes at the turn of pigs point dirt ramp were so loaded with fish, we’d kick in to leave and pick up ...

Re: Anyone Ultralight fishing Bass in Barrett?
I’ve brought ul rod in the past to fish for the bruiser gills with crappie jigs to change it up for fun. Caught many bycatch bass on crappie jigs. Try a double fluke rig with the tiny lake forks or similar. You’ll probably crush

Re: Anyone Ultralight fishing Bass in Barrett?
12lb is pretty standard. I’ve never experienced line shy fish there. I fish 30lb mono on my swim bait rod, 20lb on my umbrella stuff, 15lb for heavy cover, 10-12 for 90% of everything else
Like stated above, I’ve brought a 2lb setup for the bruiser gills and crappie after I’ve hit the lake 5 times ...

Re: Outcast Prowler float tube for sale
This isn't your typical tube. I’ve owned many brands. The material doesn’t compare to the build of this one. They even give you a 5year warranty when you buy it new. It’s definitely the flagship. And it’s a big boy tube.

Re: best fluoro on the market tests...
We always used Yozuri disappearing pink leader fishing all the so cal Marlin tourneys and the Bisbees along with all the other Marlin tournaments in Baja/mainland. For what that’s worth. $100k entry fees etc. never had any issues. I still use it for fresh. I don’t typically do mainline flouro, just ...

Re: Recommend tackle
I’ve never gone as far to use fluoro. Cats are not line shy at all.
I don’t catfish as much as I used to but for soaking bait, I got into just a sliding egg sinker directly inline with the hook. Casts better than a swivel with leader. But even better if you aren’t worried about casting as far as ...

Re: Float tube essentials....
Besides a lot mentioned above, I always carry gorilla vinyl repair tape and my dual action pump. It has saved a trip twice for me. If you have a slow leak or like mentioned above, temp change, the pump is helpful. The tape is when you have an obvious hole. Both times for me was throwing a big rat ...

Re: Golden Bass
Bass have the ability to change their color to match the background, much like a chameleon. So bass caught in the weeds will have the classic green and black largemouth pattern and I have seen fish caught in the open water be light green and almost silvery.

Re: A-Rigs
I fish them a lot. This is all based on my opinion and results…Speed varies per a rig. The slower the better. I use the biggest phenix crank rod they make which makes a huge difference in casting and hook up. Control the landing on the cast so they don’t turn over and tangle. With a long cast, about ...
