The Murr 4/25

It was a little chilly, overcast and windy, but the bite was decent. Caught 6 in the 2-3.5 pound range. The damage today was done on BFS gear and watermelon 1/8 oz. Keitech jig, paired with a 2 inch Netbait Paca Chunk. I fished it bouncing along rocky bottoms as well as casting it to the edge of the ...

Re: New PB from Sutherland

Very nice Paul! Let’s hear the story!

Cold, wet day catching mini bass on a Jerk Bait. Had 7 or 8, all under 2 lbs. One about 5" long. I was going to fish to the end of a certain point and call it a day. About 30 feet from my quitting place I threw my Lucky Craft Pointer 65 into some shallow ...

Re: New PB from Sutherland

It’s uncanny how you hardly ever hear “ Things went exactly according to plan” when talking about landing the big ones! My two largest bass both come with some harrowing moments much like yours. Hang ups on structure, jumps that make your heart skip a beat, hooks hanging on by a thread. That ...

LOL! Well not right behind! He had been there a few hours before. That particular point gets fished often.
Remember that 7 at Barrett that our buddy caught? The one with the faulty scale?

Hodges report April 27

Got out on the lake at first light. Have to say the lake had the feel like something was going to happen. Spoiler alert, good day, but nothing epic. Did talk to someone who pulled a 6 pounder on a 10" senko. Water was 66F, wind calm, skies were alternating between scattered and broken.

Got a couple ...

Re: New PB from Sutherland

Nice fish!! My personal best from Sutherland years ago was 7.4 on the same jerk bait! I’ve caught so many fish on that particular bait that it’s almost see through now 🤣

Big'un Hodges 4/28

Caught several clones and this behemoth at Hodges this morning. My scale sucks but definitely in the 8lb range. I debated on going to Otay today as it's much closer to me. I'm glad I chose to make the drive! It was great to see Pourboy out there too. Good times!

Re: Yuma PB

Its been years since I caught a double digit bass. I saw a fish that looked decent sized. I jigged the area for a while with no bites. I grabbed another rod with a slug. Twitched it through the trees, and BAM! Now im fighting a giant. I kept expecting her to come off because she was so big. She ...

Started off very low. Since it has come up probably 18 feet. Good healthy level now.

Re: New PB from Sutherland

Nice!! You know, I've lived here since 1984, and never fished Southerland. Maybe it's time. I don't know the lake or area. Maybe sometime I can meet up with one of you guys "in the know"?

Re: San Diego river fishing

Nice job down there. I have caught a lot of nice fish over the years down at the SD River. I agree with you if you run into some of the homeless river residents, I just try to be nice and kid around and I’ve never had any problems, but it can be kind of edgy sometimes. Thanks for sharing and I ...

First time at El Cap

Well I have to say that I really liked my first trip to El Cap! Probably the nicest day weather wise in a long time and sometimes that means...not great fishing. But that was not the case. I don't have a boat (actually I do have a canoe, but that doesn't count) so I decided to hire a guide, what a ...

5/1-Tough morning/SD River

Being forgetful made my SD River fishing trip a little tougher this morning. Last night I sorted out a selection of crawbaits,
senkos, creature and a few other plastic worms in little ziplocks that were geared just for the SD river. This way I could travel light
as I have a tendency to bring way ...

Re: 5/1-Tough morning/SD River

I have a set of checklists pinned to my sun visor. One is for my boat, one for the kayak and one for float tubing. Rods, tackle bag , Mirage Drive, motor flush/ boat wash bag, stuff like that. A quick check before I leave. This trick has saved me many times, mainly at 3:30 am, leaving for some long ...

Otay trifecta 4/4

Nice to meet CorsoEnthusiast AKA Jeremy and his brother at Otay today. Both class acts, and I am looking forward to fishing with them in the future.

Myself, I ended up with 6 bass, a dozen or so bluegill, and 4 crappie. I scored the trifecta as Jeremy put it lol.
