Re: 3/8 El Cap
You are correct. Lightest line I usually throw is 10 lb but I thought I would make things interesting and it definitely was.Mcfish wrote: Fri Mar 08, 2024 7:13 pm 4lb test...reminds me of the old days at San V with crystal clear water! I feel like throwing 8lb these days is light. Good job out there!

Re: Different week, different pattern!
Nice job out there and I almost joined you up there but decided fishing for the small clones at Murray would be so much more exciting….NOT!!!
I definitely made the wrong choice and looks like you had a heck of a great time. The five pounder might be the one you lost last week, and this time you won ...

Re: Different week, different pattern!
Impressive!
I made my way up there yesterday as well. Only my second time up there ever, and its been a few years, I forgot how picturesque and just lovely it is!
I only caught 1 fish though. It was a very fat healthy 2.5-3#er, but thought I'd get a few more bites. Oh well still a very enjoyable ...

Re: 3/8 El Cap
Was down there this morning. First moving bait action of the prespawn for me. Lots of hungry chunks! Only had a dropshot rod in my hand for about 4 casts LOL

Re: 3/8 El Cap
Wish I would have gone there today. I spent 10 hours at Hodges and ended up with only catching one grebe on a crank. Great job!

Re: Lake of D & K: Where did the water go?
I imagine the people who managed these reservoirs when they were built didn’t have the same worldview as the people who manage them now. The people running them now are more concerned with what kind of stick figure is on the bathroom doors at the reservoirs instead of how much water is in them ...

Re: Lake of D & K: Where did the water go?
50’s? I would imagine it was a drought year if the lake was that low??? San Diego population was no where near today’s. Maybe they pumped all the water in the oceans back then too? Different times today

backseated with a friend yesterday, Been a moment, the lake is WAAAAY up, loooks great. You won't get that workout launching. Water fairly clear, a little green. A few beds, not many. Water 60.5, trout recently planted, reaction baits 0, d/s working ok in 10=20, some at 30.
Love to go back in ...

3/10-Ended up at Lake of D & K
Well I stayed up late(1a.m.) and with the clocks pushed ahead the next thing I knew it was morning. I didn't sleep well and woke
up a number of times and kept thinking about fishing even though I had not planned to fish today. After breakfast I quickly made a
decision to fish and started gathering ...

Re: Different week, different pattern!
Are you actually able to launch a boat there?
Pretty sketchy if you have a nice bass boat as this morning I watched these guys launching and thought that a few more feet and the truck
will have gone too far and someone would have to tow the truck out, but they launched finally. Best bet is ...

That’s kind of what I figured. I miss fishing that lake.

Re: San V...must be Monday!
It has been so long since I've seen a "McFish Monday" report from you that I thought with old age creeping up,
you may have forgot that you like to fish on Mondays at San V. Glad to see you remembered to fish and post
a report from you and looks like you picked up where you left off. I think that I ...

Re: San V...must be Monday!
Thanks for the report, did you notice the water temp toward the end of the day, how much did it go up in the shallower areas? John and I are heading out on Friday and I'm wondering if we should do San V or El Cap.
