Re: C&R gone too far?
Halibut tastes like “fish”. If you cooked a fillet of halibut and bass without any seasoning, one would taste like a jersey mikes level fish, the other one like a premade sandwich from 7-11. If you disagree you don’t have taste buds. I couldn’t care less about how many people have eaten bass in ...

Re: El Cap 2-24 Can’t Complain! With a PSA
Brother and I were there in the dam arm for the first 4 hours of the day and the last two. Rangers let us in way early, we were down on the shore when it was still pitch dark. First hour of light was on fire, we got bit on plastics (no luck on reaction but I did lose a 110 sadly) and after that it ...

San V 2/26 Way better than I expected.
After the fish were hammered with 110 teams in the Anglers Marine tournament on Saturday, my expectations were set pretty low. The morning started out about how I thought it would. There were only about 6 boats when I launched but one of them ended up on the spot I wanted to start on. No biggie ...

Re: 2/25 Otay & 2/26 Murray
Thanks Vinny.I was wondering about Otay. Almost never see reports from there recently.
Glad you got some.
I was kind of overwhelmed by the water level at Otay when I got there. There is so much new cover to fish
and I was not planning to be there long so decided to just head down a little ...

Confidence Baits or New Baits: Which Do I Fish?
https://youtu.be/FRH0713MlFA?si=CXmy52JYgvHrnWIW
Hey all I hope all the lines are tight and the drags are screaming. I really had a mental splinter this week deciding where to fish. I know that shouldn't be that big a deal but look I'm sure you guys get it. Do I fish here or there? Once a decision ...

Re: Confidence Baits or New Baits: Which Do I Fish?
It can definitely be tough to get comfortable with a new bait, or technique. One of the reasons I’m glad I no longer fish tournaments is that I can go out and just fish free. No stress about money, or points being on the line. It has allowed me to expand my fishing so much more.

Re: Confidence Baits or New Baits: Which Do I Fish?
Obsess over where to fish and what to throw? Me?! LOL that’s got to be all of us. Lately location is anywhere away from the tournaments. I make lists and lists of tactics, each different for every lake. I love trying newer weapons, hence the jig Saturday. More of a rubber worm guy for bottom fishing ...

Some guys might know me.....
There are some guys here that might still remember me. I used to be a Socal native and fished the Socal lakes a lot on a tube dragging a jig. Just wanted to drop this video for you guys this is not in Socal. I have since then moved to the Central valley and now do kayak tournaments up here. This is ...

Re: Some guys might know me.....
My backseaters used to always laugh at me because I would catch a fish and immediately pick up a different rod and start throwing something else. When I’m fishing one bait, I’m always thinking about what else I could be throwing. Even lately with all of the fish I’ve been getting in the dropshot, in ...

Re: 2/25 Otay & 2/26 Murray
Looks pretty good to me. You’ll probably get a six pounder next time.

I was lucky as heck in a 5 year span or so where I caught at least 2 bass that were in the 6lb range each year and some
of those years even a few more(thanks to the Tokyo rig mostly)....up until until last year. Since I fish ...

San V Leap Day, steady but slow
I realize that may sound like a contradiction but it pretty much describes my day. Fishing was actually better on Monday, at least for me. I ended up with a Bakers Dozen but there was no size to them and I struggled for bites.
I would get a fish or two off a spot and it would die. I ended up ...

Re: San V Leap Day, steady but slow
Good job. It was definitely a tougher bite out there today. My boat ended with 5 by 1pm. Threw the kitchen sink at em today but all they wanted from us was the finesse rigs. I will say the rise in water has really thrown me off and the algae is pretty bad in spots. Not sure how it will affect the ...

Lake of D & K: Where did the water go?
Well it was a 77 mile trip to the lake and back home.....or was that just a large farm pond I fished at today???
Last year the water level at the lake of Donald & Kiefer was so high that you had to launch up near the concession stand as the
parking lot was all under water. It was absolutely ...

Badly kept secret!
Sutherland opened today and everybody seemed to know. I wrote a longer report but touched the wrong button and it vanished! Not as easy as it used to be, or I am dumber!
Short version: Water is cold, fish are in the stick-ups and seem to be few.

Re: Badly kept secret!
I think all the crappie fishermen scared them off….ha ha.
Yeah, the cold water(and lack of water)and all the points and areas that were high and dry now did not help make
the fishing easier. It was strange having so many people fishing, especially in the middle of the lake, but I think it was ...
