Diamond Valley vintage( video)

My old club used to fish a tournament a year there and we always looked forwards to it. Someone was always gonna come in with a mega bag in the spring. The lake was super high when I filmed this around 11 years or so ago. happy new years everyone!

Kicking off 2024. 1/6 at the V

With it being 2024 now, I thought back to how tough the bite was a year ago and how between the rain and the colder temps it felt like winter was never going to end. In 2023 I had one small fish (and one big one that broke off) in January and then not a sniff till mid March.

This year, with my ...

Nice way to kick off the New Year! Cold weather fishing, but bet catching those bass made you guys forget about the weather.
Look like a fun time for you and your bro.
Tight lines and thanks for sharing. :-)

San V 1/8

Got on the water a little later than usual this morning, launching at about 8:30 with the air temp a crisp 32. Made for a very cold first run! Ended the day with 7 with the biggest only 1.68lbs. Don’t take any pictures because I was pulling them up from 55-60ft so it was unhook and get them back in ...

Re: San V 1/8

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't they have to be fizzed, or' weight released' to those deeper depths'?

They might disappear swimming down a bit but...will they float back up after awhile?

Re: San V 1/8

In my experience, as long as they haven’t “bloated” when they hit the surface, and you get them back in the water quickly they will dart right back down to the bottom. The two I had to fizz, it took me a bit to get them unhooked and I, literally, watched them decompress in my hands. Their eyes ...

San V 1/11

Better day today than Monday. Day started out rainy and windy so I pulled out the spinnerbait and about 10min in I got my biggest of the day, a 3.01. That was it for any reaction bites so I picked up the dropshot and headed out deep, 40-60ft. Ended the day with 11 in the boat with at least that many ...

San V 1/15

Today is why I love fishing! After the last couple of trips I felt pretty confident that I had the deep bite pretty well figured out…..WRONG!!

On the water at opening. It was a very crisp 35 degrees when I launched. After a very cold run I started out throwing an A rig while I was waiting for the ...

Oxbow Fishing the Colorado River and Lake Mohave

https://youtu.be/p-6rxPwxobs?si=ka-kLZeLFj8VNK0Q
Hey all one of my goals for the new year is to step out and try lots of new fishing spots. I headed to Lake Mohave over the Christmas holidays and ended up getting blown out for the most part, literally. The day I got there the wind was blowing 30 ...

Re: 56 and still going

Happy Birthday!
Always fun to celebrate a birthday and looks like the icing on the cake was those nice fat bass.
Thanks for sharing and tight lines always!!!

(I’m 69 and barely going(dealing with more excuses, not to fish, then to fish) but hope to get in some more years of fishing). :-)

Re: Oxbow Fishing the Colorado River and Lake Mohave

I know which spot you were referring to when you said it had a launch ramp. I went out there a few years back once and was surprised how many people fish that section. I wish I had brought my float tube but I figured the current would be a little strong for me to stay in one area but it looks like ...

San V 1-22 my bilge pump works!

Headed out onto a very rainy lake this morning with two other boaters who were crazy enough to head out into the rain. I should probably be living in the Pacific Northwest because I LOVE the rain and especially fishing in it! My bilge pump kicked on about every 15min or so pumping out a few gallons ...
