Had a couple spinning rods with me and tied up a dropshot on the lightest rod to fish a tiny, shallow pool in Creek X.
Nyet.
The next spot had potential for bigger fish. And it is accessed from a bank about 3 feet above the creek.

Ahaha. I fish at a pond near my house. Sometimes you get in some strange positions to catch a fish and one time I was holding on to a tree with one hand and planning to cast and then use my leg to hold on to the tree. I don't know why that seemed reasonable, I do things I don't always understand ...

Why would water be released to the ocean? Have we conserved too nuch?

Last time headed to Alpine I noticed the Cap had dropped enough that more high spots in the launch arm were exposed. And that happened over the course of a week so it wasn’t evaporation. I cannot fathom (pun intended) why the city would do that except for dam integrity or keeping the drought ...

Maybe we’re going to get a lot of rain this winter and the city is preparing for it…. Yeah….that’s the reason…ha ha :-)

My pleasure. The problem is so many times in the early morning hours, and the late afternoon ones, that you get the great light. But it’s also the time the bass start hitting lures like crazy. A conundrum, if there ever was one.

was fishing an underspin and landed a few 2 pound largemouths when suddenly something slammed my lure and bent my medium heavy rod over and started peeling drag.  Turned out that a 15.2 pound catfish thought the swimbait looked tasty as well!

I'm not here to defend the water authority, but I may have some insight. I live in a building that's 50+ years old and I'm unfortunately the HOA president. Almost the exact same thing happened to me a couple years back at the Murr. Fun fight, but a little disappointing when you find out it's not a bass.

I too love doing art about fishing although i have a different medium .I just brought my Grandsons fishing and i made these for their room. I will guilt my daughter into putting them on their wall and laugh my ass off when she does.

Had a great time on Lake Murray today. The big schools of bass are starting to break up. I caught 6 like this working the edges of tullies with jigs and Senkos.
