Re: Wild ride at San V today

I can see that point of view on FFS, but I have a different direction. I added it to my kayak when I moved up from a smaller depth/fish finder. I don't have it on all the time, but I am using it to see what the fish are doing. As fisherman with a certain level of history some of us saw the first ...

Re: Wild ride at San V today

I have played a little with Active Target on my buddy’s boat. There are fish looking at your bait on almost every cast. It’s definitely a challenge learning to use it effectively. I wouldn’t be interested in video game Fishing but as the above poster said, being able to use it in situations to help ...

Re: Wild ride at San V today

Forward facing sonar isn’t new, just for fresh. I disagree it’s taking technology too far. Go tuna fishing or walking big baits on pinnacles with and without one- Your opinion will drastically change. Haven’t got a chance to use one fresh but I watch that crappie fisherman in Oklahoma that now ...

Re: The BFs "Craze"

I have officially entered the BFS craze. Will say - I caught around 40 bass all 10-11” (but quite girthy) on a little Megabass X-80Jr today and it was absolutely a blast. I am definitely hooked on the BFS thing now. Even little clones are a really fun fight.

20lb braid with 8' of Pline Fluoroclear. The braid helps in throwing weightless baits.
That’s the same set up I use. I will downsize to 6lb a lot of times since there isn’t really anywhere for them to go once hooked.

El Cap at night( video)

A few weeks back, I shared a clip from a ECBT night tournament I fished at Otay. The following year, the vent was moved to El Cap. had a different partner and we struggled but managed a small limit. Super fun event regardless.

Re: El Cap at night( video)

I found growing up, with a back yard to a lake.
Nightfishing to be quite sporting.a little face paint , and some camo your all set.
Now to fish the same lake , you have to pay 91.00 per night camp fee, 12.00 night fishing permit.
They must think it’s pretty sporting as well.

What line are you throwing at those schoolies?

20lb braid with 8' of Pline Fluoroclear. The braid helps in throwing weightless baits.

Question on the setup McFish and others…my braid to fluoro (50 to 10) is hard to throw smaller baits as the braid seems to dig in to itself on the spool and ...

Re: Dixon

CKRZ,

As an Escondido resident, Lake Dixon has been my "home lake" for over 2-decades.
I am strictly a bass fisherman from shore and can only speak to this species.
I fish Dixon no less than once per week.
If you fish Dixon for bass, it's hard to beat a drop-shotted finesses worm rigged weedless ...

Re: Dixon

CKRZ,

One last comment in addition to my earlier reply.
My personal Lake Dixon rule of thumb is "never on a weekend."

10/20 Murray

All types of things been going on keeping me from fishing and recently had my boat serviced so went out for just a few hours mostly to test things yesterday. I have not fished Murray for a few weeks and since so just a quick report. There are schools of small bass chasing shad around the lake. Most ...

Wed. at Otay

Fished sunrise to sunset, first time doing that in awhile, and first time to Otay in awhile too. Fog was sooooo pretty that I found it hard not to stop and make some art with my camera.

Not many folks out today. Warm and sunny after fog burned off. BIte was tough, as I'd heard, but got into some ...
