6/20-Murray, Me and McFish?

As I arrived at Murray, a guy towing a bass boat was leaving as there was no way to launch a bass boat now as the water level to the end of the boat ramp is now just a few feet. I started to unload my kayak quickly and low and behold who pulls up right behind me....@McFish. I told him the lake was ...

Re: 6/20-Murray, Me and McFish?

Glad you guys had a fun day with almost no one else on the water at Murray. Surprised they let Murray get so low that you can't launch boats. Guess I'll have to continue at San V, at least until the water level comes DOWN at Sutherland. Thanks for the report you guys!!

Re: 6/20-Murray, Me and McFish?

Do you think the ramp is still usable with a float tube? Would like to fish there tomorrow. Thursday

otay 6/21

Water much clearer and up to 75+- degrees. Lots of fry all over. Once again, my only complaint is all the up-rooted tulles!! Damn froggers with 80lb braid!!! :o

So I take it you didn't go to San V on Monday, since you were at Murray on Tuesday? I looked for you out there on Monday.
Caught a nice one on the frog and couple of dinks.
I'll be back out there this Monday. Hope to see you.

What ...

Re: otay 6/21

I wonder what would make them let go? I've seen dormant ones in the winter that had no plan on letting go. I've seen dead ones out at the River that seemed like they were cemented to the bottom!

Who knows, last time I was at Otay, I went into a cove near the ramp and there had to be an area ...

SD River & more

This month I have been fishing alot at the SD river. I have spent a few trips to Sa V and Hodges also . I've been concentrating my efforts almost exclusively to finesse jigs. I have had considerable success with a round ball head in sizes less than 1/8 oz with weedgaurd and trimmed down skirts and ...

Re: SD River & more

Finesse jigs are fun to fish, because they get a lot more bites. I use them at our small city ponds and have had some pretty nice fish inhale it, but the 1 pounders have no problems smacking them.

Problem is, it seems the only ones you can find readily available are the Keitech series of finesse ...

Re: SD River & more

Nice job out there @DarkShadow. I fixed the pics and looks like you are having lots of fun on the water.
Finesse jigs working for you and that's great! The bass see so many worms and they probably think..hey..what
the heck is this and gobble it down. I caught some bass earlier in the year on ...

6/22 Shrinking Murray AM Session

I wanted to fish Murray this morning even though the water level is down to inches from where the boat ramp ends. I figured this may
be my last trip for a bit until the water rises again so I carefully guided my kayak just over the rocks and headed out
in search of shad balls and bass. There are a ...

Re: 6/20-Murray, Me and McFish?

NIce job to both of you on those nice looking chunks.

I know Murray is the end of the line for SD Water. So why such a big fluctuation in water level latey?
Thanks!

I heard it second hand about the water was going to be lowered for the 4th of July firework show and then also heard
they will ...

Re: SD River & more

I have been buying tungsten ball head jig heads from amazon . Its a harmony product and I can get just about any small size I would need and get them 5 for about 11 bucks. I buy in bulk skirts .

That's smart! I perused Amazon and found that the smallest size they make is a 1/4 ounce.

The ...
