7/8 Miramar DD
Had a great day at Miramar yesterday. My buddy and I ended up with 30 fish total with a 4 and a 3.15# which we were pretty happy about. We lost 3 more that jumped at least once and were in that weight class. Also had a double hook-up which is always awesome! I can't remember a time when these fish ...

Re: 7/8 Miramar DD
Meant to include that all were caught on soft plastics. Tried maybe 10 other lures (jerk bait, Sammy, jack hammer, whopper plopper, mini-jig to name a few) with no bites other than on a small paddle tail SB tossed into a group of busting fish but it came unbuttoned.

Sulphur Creek smoke fest
Another after work, quick stop at my favorite Orange County bass hole. Got there and it was super smokey, but the ranger who took my $3 didn't seem concerned so off i went. Picked up a little guy who fell in the dirt...

Re: 7/8 Miramar DD
Thank you Vinny. I am embarrassed by the number of times we have fished this lake with nothing over 3#s. Since last year we have had much better fish and much better fights. Hopefully the days of this being the lake of the clones is over. Always good to see your reports!!

7/8- Miramar Rocks!
Haven't been up to Miramar since the middle of June and had a fun time that day so decided to take my kayak back up there and see what's happening. Kind of bummed as was no surface action except for an occasional splash out in the distance. So after a number or useless casts with topwater baits, I ...

When the fish are heavier, for some reason, I hold things tighter….. ha ha
Besides, I give you the honest weight. I’m not the guy who lies about the weight no matter how
big they look in a picture. No respect for guys who do that.
Its funny ...

Murray 7/9
Topwater season has arrived full force at the Murr with fish busting all over the lake. I saw a few good sized ones come up, but mostly they were small, and chasing tiny bait. I got a handful on my usual topwater walkers, but I swear they have been practicing how to throw a lure when they jump ...

Re: Murray 7/9
There are two tricks I learned back when I fished for money a long time ago and far away where Alligators chased your Bass. One was to switch out your trebles for Gamakatsu sticky sharp ones, the second was to add an extra split ring to the Hook. They can only rotate so far with a single ring and ...

7/14-Starting to warm up
It seems that the bass that are jumping at Murray are mainly focusing on eating shad 99.9% of the time and not many artificial offerings. Even throwing into busting bass, they are still focused on the live shad so it does feel good to fool at least some of them finicky little guys with a hard bait ...

7/16- SD River "Oh Yeah"
Haven't fished the SD river since June 23 and figured I would do a quick morning session and take off before it gets too hot.
So much for early start as I finally got there around 7:15. In my past reports you will see that I do not get a lot of bites
down there. So when I miss a bite or a bass ...

Murray 7/16
My last few visits at Murray have been dominated by dinks and clones. Still catching decent numbers, but most have been small. Today I finally got on a little better bite. Not giants but got 3 in the upper two and lower 3 lb. range. Flipping the edge of tules with a jig. It certainly ain't power ...

Re: Lower Otay
As Robert says, a worm. Years ago and with water up into the tules just right, I won a small tourney flipping 8” t-rigged chocolate neon blue worms into the tules. To this day I see guys nailing them on dropshots and my gal caught her first plastic worm bass there on a t-rigged roboworm. In fact on ...
