Re: FFS/ LiveScope/ Activetarget Yes, No, Maybe So?

If you fish basic bass fishing areas like the shoreline, or shoreline stick-ups, tulles or rocky areas along the shore, there is no point
in spending money for FFS. If it looks bassy, then throw your lure over to it is what I do. To find high spots or structure in deeper
water away from the ...

Re: FFS/ LiveScope/ Activetarget Yes, No, Maybe So?

I have FFS on my boat and i love it. Even though I have the old 32 version and only 9" screen. Hope to upgrade some day. It opens up a whole new adventure in fishing. When I first got it I did the bait balls and bass thing. Then I started using it to find structure, then fish on the structure, then ...

Bigger fish moving in. Murray 5/15

After 2 weeks of catching mostly dinks and one pounders, I finally got onto a bite today with better quality fish. 9 total fish all two plus pounds with the best going three and a half.

All in all a pretty fun morning.

Thought I'd share

One of my dearest friends Timmy (in Oregon) has been following the potential lake closures in California, and I thought I'd share a meme he created thinking of me.

Re: FFS/ LiveScope/ Activetarget Yes, No, Maybe So?

For me, the fun in bass fishing, or fishing in general, is figuring out the bite. Some days I can do it, some days the bass win. To me, that is the best part of fishing. Trying to figure out the puzzle each time on the water.

While I understand FFS is viewed by many as just another tool. To me ...

El Cap 5/17 she’s still kickin’

Got out in the water about 6:30 and there were about 5 trailers in the lot. Word must have gotten out that the lake was still launchable because by about 9:00 there were boats on almost every bit of exposed rock on the lake!

Caught 10 today. Biggest was just over 3lbs and best five probably went ...

Re: El Cap 5/17 she’s still kickin’

Too bad the water is not going right into Murray to the water level so I could pitch Tokyo rigs into tulles like I used to years ago. That’s not happening because they can’t raise the water over a certain level now at Murray so it’ll never be like it was about three years ago. Anyway, nice seeing a ...

FAT Bass and Carp on the Fly at Lake Henshaw (video)

Made it out to Henshaw this past week to do a little bass and carp fishing. Started the morning off throwing at carp with the fly rod and picked off a few on a black leech before the wind kicked up. Switched over to conventional tackle and started flipping the tree's with a black and blue creature ...

5/19-Return to Murray

It seems like forever since I fished Murray so I decided to head over and see what's happening.
Used reaction baits for a few active bass up near the surface, I stuck a little too long using reaction baits as overall there was not much surface action this morning and the sun was up early. I then ...

Wasn't gonna post but ...

After some quality bigger fish yesterday it was back to clones at Murray today. I actually wasn't going to post, but I just had to share a picture of this pretty clone I caught. The picture doesn't really do it justice. It had the most beautiful golden almost orange tone to it. Very dark and vivid ...

Murray 5/23

Rad day at Murray. I stopped counting at 30 fish. Lots of bass in the high 2 pound range and 3 fish over 3 pounds. Also caught the biggest bluegill I've ever seen. Fat as hell. It's mouth was big enough for my scale and it weighed in at 2.54 lbs.

So much fun, it almost makes me regret leaving on ...

You might laugh, but birding is a highly competitive pastime and there is some amount of fame and fortune for the top birders and their pics and species observed. Would it surprise ...

Birding and photos are not much more different than trophy hunting for bass or animals. Scratches the same itch.

El Cap Memorial Day 🇺🇸

Headed out with the girl about 5:30 and plenty of boats had already launched. Ramp is darn close to its end but ok for another day, week, maybe two. @Moose was right on from yesterday, fish are on the chew. Saw that topwater shad trapped against the shore right away. We had stopped just shy of where ...
