Murray back on top 4/28

It was overcast and chilly early this morning at Murray. I caught 4 fat clones on topwater early before the wind came up and forced me to move to the bottom.

I posted my favorite BFS topwater baits in the BFS section for those interested. All the topwater fish today came courtesy of the tiny ...

4/29- Lake Miramar AM Session

Grabbed some gear and tossed it in my kayak and headed away from Murray and up to Lake Miramar this morning.
Not a real early start as I was on the water just before 7 and saw only one other angler fishing in a float tube. The water was glassy and nothing broke on the surface so I went to my usual ...

Re: 4/29- Lake Miramar AM Session

Awesome as always Vinny! You just know how to fish.

Thanks Dan…but you my man, know how to fish.
Every time I’m at Murray and you are there, all I see is you pulling in another fish.
Hey, by the way, I really enjoyed checking out your BFS gear the other day when I stopped by Murray. I can’t ...

Otay wed 30

Misty overcast morning which was perfect for top water action. Went across the dock and got one on the popper second cast. Worked along the way to Harvey and got a few more, blow up on a frog but missed.
Looked like there was a tournament because there were 20 boats down Harvey! Found a flat area ...

IMG_0576.jpeg IMG_0534.jpeg https://youtu.be/KbHRgUc9Bj4

Hey all!
I had a tiny window of opportunity to fish on Wednesday morning so I went to...Hodges! I got in line at 5:30am with 10 cars in front of me. Got down to launch and the carp guys had already set up shop in the launch area. So there ...

Re: Not what I planned.....

I wonder how many baits I would’ve changed
before I tied on a topwater bait if I was up there fishing near you this morning? Ha ha Anyway, none of that matters as It sounds like you hit the jackpot going out to the middle of the lake. Those are some nice fish and bet you were having a blast out ...

What is crazy is each week, things seem to change at that lake and you never know what to expect but being flexible
is the key as McFish proved.

5/6- SD River morning session

The last time I went to the SD River(4/23), I saw lots of floating dead bass and only got one bite and was very lucky to even catch a micro bass.
This morning did not see any dead fish which was nice. I covered a lot of water, first tossing a fluke and a few other reaction baits and no takers. It ...

Re: FFS/ LiveScope/ Activetarget Yes, No, Maybe So?

As we spoke about out on the water at El Cap brother, I briefly considered adding it to my float tube. Briefly being the key word in that sentence. I have no problem with guys using it, but like you, I've watched them spend hours staring at their screens. Speaking for myself, that's the polar ...

Re: FFS/ LiveScope/ Activetarget Yes, No, Maybe So?

Its a tool just like spotlock. Does it make you a better fisherman? It helps but not make you catch fish. If anything it tells you have many fish won't bite. Like anything else you must learn it. It does not do well in shallow water. The jig and minnow thing is a kick but frustrating at the same ...

Re: FFS/ LiveScope/ Activetarget Yes, No, Maybe So?

Others have mentioned that it is simply yet another tool to your arsenal. I remember the same controversy when Alabama rigs came out.

From experience, it definitely helps when the shallow bite isn't happening. Many have this false sense that you see the fish and you cast to the fish and then you ...
