Re: 3/26 SD River

You might have to get that junebug tattoo after all.

So what is your favorite junebug lure? Worm, craw, Brush Hog, Senko....?

Mostly Tokyo rig or others too?

Spill the secrets.

Re: 3/26 SD River

I haven’t been throwing the Tokyo rig too much at Lake Murray, but I have used it at the river off and on and that is what I used today with the brush hog.
I usually rig the Junebug colored brush hog Texas style with a little sinker stop not far from the weight. I think most of my bigger fish last ...

Re: 3/26 SD River

Admittedly, it is more fun to catch fish with jarring strikes on crankbaits, spinner baits or top waters than crawling and shaking soft plastics on the bottom trying to entice inactive fish. For the way I fish (float tube), I don't cover enough area to only target active fish and do well so it is ...

Re: 3/26 SD River

I use a net and fish gripper pliers to handle the fish and then remove the hooks with long needle nose pliers. I usually use 6 lb line so the larger fish are tired by the time I get them to the net so they don't flop around in my lap like a fresh fish. I have yet to hook myself past the barb and ...

Jerks at the Pond

Omar, the resident high school dropout, was whizzing past on his 3 thousand dollar scooter just as I was releasing another chunky 2 pounder back into the aquamarine colored pond. He stopped to chat and get the juice.

For the second trip in a row @otaymichael was getting on the water as I was leaving. How'd you do Mike? How was the afternoon bite? Inquiring minds want to know.

Re: My newish bait @ Otay 3/26

Looks like a finesse punch rig! Definitely a fish catcher it looks like. Even though I've never punched real vegetation in my life, I value those skirts as they add bulk to your bait, without weighing them down. It almost seems it does the opposite by providing drag when your bait sinks.

Good job ...

El Cap 3/28 And

I was up early ready to go until I looked outside and it was raining. Well I sat down drinking my coffee as I was not in the mood to get wet today. The weather cleared up a bit around 7 so off I went. I headed to the spot that did me well last time, but it was not it today. I landed 2 there and ...

If you mean tube, I have a pontoon now. Will use it at Barrett. The rock is located, you launch head straight out look right for the squirrel sitting on the rock and it is in the water 14 ft deep. It was not a big rock so go slow or you will miss it.

Re: Double Digit Bass! 2 Bites, 2 Big fish

So just FYI, I took down the video from Youtube. I didn't realize at the time or when I posted that there are no longer boats allowed in Hidden Bay. It hasn't always been like that and the sign is in the middle of the bay and I was so focused on looking for fish I didn't see it. I am a rule follower ...
