Re: Beginner bass fishing in OC
There are so many places to fish for bass it can be overwhelming for a beginner. Most all bodies of freshwater from farm and golf course ponds to gravel pits and on to lakes will hold fish in your area. Irvine lake is a good place to start or not to far is DVL and Skinner Lake. South of you is Dixon ...

Sept15 HODGES
Got to the lake early in the morning along with very few other anglers. Got the pontoon set up and off I went on my quest. Since we are heading into the fall I figured I would try to catch the bass with large jigs because I know they will soon be trying to gorge themselves ahead of winter. I was ...

9/16-Yeah...that lake
Trying not to bore everyone with a fish report that turns into a novel, I decided to
keep it a little bit shorter and simple. Enjoy! :-)
Fished Murray(yeah, that lake) under cooler and windy conditions
Bass were on the chew... despite 6 or so bass coming unbuttoned, was still able to land 16 bass ...

Re: 9/16-Yeah...that lake
Sounds like a fun day, how you like those paddle tails?I never have any luck with them
They were pretty effective even in the choppy water. They were getting lots of bumps in between catching bass. I had luck with them on my last Murray trip also. I used to use them more years ago and just ...

Re: Sept 19th...and a new lure for me
That is a great looking lure! Dang.... the bass seem to really like it so much that they can't stop trying to eat it!
Glad you had a great day again out at the Murray. I am pretty sure you will picking up more of those baits soon
and sorry to hear about you losing it, but still probably was still ...

Re: Sept 19th...and a new lure for me
That's awesome! Thanks for the tip. Do you tie the leader on directly or use a snap / swivel? I use snaps for ease of lure change, but I'm guessing it might be quite better to direct tie. I'm sure someone will tell me to tie directly as I'm missing bites with the extra tackle. I just need to work on ...

Re: Sept 19th...and a new lure for me
I got this crawler thing on Temu for less than $2. It was working wonders at Barrett a couple weeks ago. 8cm only 6.5 grams so its fun on light line!

It’s Been a Minute..
Hello angling amigos, it’s been a minute since I posted here.
Work and band stuff is keeping me busy… oh, and so is fishing ;)
I have a couple spots I’m admittedly not gonna talk about here where I’ve had success in the last month.
As for the ones I will gladly talk about, have been out to Cap ...

Lake Hodges 9/22
Hey all I I headed out to Hodges yesterday for three hours in the morning. I got there at 5:30 AM and was the second car in line. The gates didn’t open till after 6 AM and I was on the water around 6:30 AM. The water was way down from the last time I had been out there, and was color of bad gravy. I ...

9/24- Miramar
A lot tougher this morning than my other trips to Miramar this year where in past trips things were going off.
The water was glassy and looked like an oil painting with the lack of any type of action on the surface. I tried to drum up some action on the surface using a Gunfish, then a Sammy and ...

Greeted with cool conditions in the morning at Murray.
Brrrrrrr!

Around 9:00, the bass were starting to chase shad across the surface. Mixed it up with lots of reaction type baits and bottomline the clones were on the chew. Fished for a while next to my buddy Larry as bass were ...

I got to San Vicente early and was very excited to be able to try out my brand new/old motor on my boat. Got her launched without a hitch and was estatic to find hat she got on plane and handled terrific. It seemed like only seconds before i was at the Barona arm. As i was pulling in a few busters ...

Nice job out there buddy.
It’s always fun to pick up some healthy ones too! That first pic shows the bass are eating well.
Anyway, I went over to the lake to look around and saw that you were there. You made the right choice as
