Re: 8/28-Mixing it up

Not tired to the Murray reports. Keep them coming!
I like the gun fish for down sizing the top hard baits. I think it's the 75mm. I know bait makers are going much smaller now, but I'm out of the loop=)

Hodges 8/28

Was heading over to Barrett but woke up late and since I was already packed up I made the short drive over to Hodges. There was not many people fishing and most probably stayed away due to the tough conditions out there. I made a beeline to the dam and started throwing cranks on my BFS set up. Got a ...

Looks like a fun day, you’re the right guy to teach him how to fish.

Miramar

Went to Miramar for a couple hours this afternoon after reading some reports here. A few fish busting on shad here and there but weren’t interested in anything I threw at them. Landed one on a small jerk bait near some tules. This fish fought like one twice his size which was fun. Might head out ...

Re: Miramar

Many of the bass are eating baitfish and had success with reaction baits. The fish fight hard because I believe that
many have never ever been hooks as there is not heavy fishing pressure up there and last year from September on it was closed to
water craft till July of this year. Good luck if you ...

Re: Hodges 8/28

Back in the 80’s two buddies and I fished Hodges every Wednesday as we all had Wednesdays off and it was our preferred lake, we would fish the dam for shore where the the overflow was and if we could cast to the ledge where the deep water was it would produce a bass every time and between my buddies ...

Re: Miramar

Ive been out there during the evening hours. The breakers are starting to slow down to 10 - 15 second bait crashing. There is a giant bait ball by the main dock and boat launch... Good luck out there.

8/30-SD River am

This sounds strange, but I just did not feel like going to Lake Murray this morning(despite the fact they are biting)and decided to go down to the SD River.
I have not fished there since late June and lately it has just been too dang hot. I figured that I could fish a few hours this morning and get ...

outstanding work! It's hard to not do the things that are working and try something else, but you sure showed it does pay off.

I think being a little hyper might also have something to do with it.
Besides, I have lots and lots of lures that haven’t touched the water in a long time and figured ...

Re: Miramar

I went out there today for a few hours 930-1230. Busters were here and there no consistency to them. I was able to pick a couple on a jerk bait that busted close to the last fishing dock nearest to the dam. I also caught a few little guys on a DS along the tule line. Pretty good way to spend lunch

Re: 8/30-SD River am

Nice job Vinny. You're always on fish brother. Murray has been kinda up and down for me over the last week, so I think you made the right call for sure!

More than a few guys have told me the bite is off and on at Murray. Yesterday I heard it was not good as told to me by another fellow

What’s nice is not having to pay for a fishing permit or launch fee. I could use that money for Tackle Warehouse…… ha ha

San V

Been hitting San V a few times. There has been a lot of silver sides. Hard baits get me the dinks. Plastics get me a verity of sizes. Managed to land a Kitty over 20lbs. There is 1 spot that has been producing skinny ones. Not sure what is wrong or happening to them.

Imperial Valley (IV)

Hi all,
I finally have some time to head out and explore the IV next weekend. I've been hearing for years about the miles and miles of fishing opportunity out there and am finally going to pull the trigger and experience it for myself. It's a big place so reaching out here to see if anyone can ...

Re: Imperial Valley (IV)

IMG_6277.png Google earth. Look for the drops. Fish the white water side. The upper can produce too but the flow stirs up crawdads and bait..plus it’s the “end of the road” when fish swim upstream. Flow is best but not necessary. You may be able to find a time schedule on line.

As far as paddle ...
