Re: BASS KID BAGS DOUBLE-DIGIT BARRETT LARGEMOUTH

Super big Barrett bass for sure.

Original report the fish was neither measured nor weighed so not sure where the "tipped the scale at 11.96lbs" came from.

Not trying to take away the large and beautiful catch but.......a double digit bass from Barrett is super rare and - I would put this fish ...

8/7-M-U-R-R..

Well, you probably already guessed.... as it is no surprise that I fished Lake Murray this morning. It is just so close to my house and
heck...why not! Started pretty slow as I searched all over for balls of shad in deeper water in between tossing topwater baits towards
some breakers but no hook ...

Re: BASS KID BAGS DOUBLE-DIGIT BARRETT LARGEMOUTH

Is Barrett still Northern bass only? 12lbs is really large for those! The body shape seems more like an 8 or maybe 9. They sometimes seem to grow once out of the water...😁

Re: BASS KID BAGS DOUBLE-DIGIT BARRETT LARGEMOUTH

Just hard to tell with distance away from the body and angle of pic, those two factors alone can make a small fish look big and a big fish look giant. If you notice, a lot of bill Murphy’s and other’s giants were photographed from ground or low level looking up. Gives a huge perspective of a fish ...

Re: BASS KID BAGS DOUBLE-DIGIT BARRETT LARGEMOUTH

First of all...Great catch Theo!
I agree with camobass about how a camera plays a big role on making a small fish look big and a big fish look huge. The angles and distance away from the body a fish is and closer the camera is makes a lot of fish look a lot bigger than they are. Not trying to take ...

You know how to make a bass bigger? You lose it. Adds weight instantly!

Re: I'm Baaaaack! D&K 8/9

Welcome back and hope you will be back to feeling 100% better soon. Been there and it sucked. So nice to see your post
this morning and you back in action. Glad you finally got a scale, but for me it sometimes tells me that a bass may not be
as big. A bass I figured was about 5 1/2 because it was ...

Re: I'm Baaaaack! D&K 8/9

Good job..D.K. is fishing tough when the topwater's not happening! Hate it when people get a scale...then Vinny and I can't argue whether a fish is 3.5 or if it's 3.6....

8/14-Miramar Morning

Decided to head up to Miramar again since the last time I was there July 24. A little foggy in the morning but was able to throw on
some random busters here and there. They seemed to be more focused on the small baitfish they were chasing. It was a little frustrating having a few roll over or ...

Hope you are feeling a lot better.
Always more fun to fish when you are healthy and look forward to seeing you back one day at Murray again, once you get tired of
catching so many bass at Otay.... :-)

Re: Topwater at Murray 8/15

Nice job out Dannicus! Topwater action….sounds
like you had fun. I will need to start fishing topwater which is always a blast. My buddy Larry was also out there telling me they were busting alol over. And of course I bailed on going over to Murray this morning….dang! Anyway, thanks for posting and ...

Re: 8/14-Miramar Morning

Otay is only open Wed, Sat & Sun, but I gotta say....I'm with @CorsoEnthusiast on the quality of that lake When it comes to Bass fishing.

It's the only lake that has rivaled Barrett for the numbers of bass I have caught, and the size/quality of fish is usually much better on average. Similar to ...

Re: Topwater at Murray 8/15

Was Larry the guy in the White boat? Yeah there for a while they were turning the surface into a playground! Mostly smaller clones like in the pictures, but you know me, I was throwing stuff on my beloved BFS gear so the fights were still fun!

I stuck with topwater most all day, and was still ...

The Murr....and a couple old guys

I met Mr. Vinnybass at Murray this morning for a little post full moon fishing! Between the two of us, I think we have at least a 100 years of experience on the lake, so I figured we could put together some kind of a pattern! The lake started out glassy and calm and didn't take long to heat up. It ...

Re: The Murr....and a couple old guys

The surface was like an oil painting when we got on the water and with the full moon I figured it was going to be a tough one.
Then the surface started to stir which took our minds off of melting as weather really heated up quickly. I told McFish I have
only been fishing reaction baits and not ...

Re: The Murr....and a couple old guys

Bet there was a lot of good natured smack talk out there.

Some good teasing was definitely going on! I think Vinny put in a couple more hours than he planned..trying to tie up the score! I think the heat was starting to make us a little wacky! I always learn some things when fishing with the ...

Funny thing is, tube is way more stable than a kayak is for me. Also way less “tippy” feeling even if you have good secondary stability in a yak. I feel like I’m fishing out of a giant inflatable pool chair lol
