Re: El Cap 3/24

I play around the start of the north arm and work my way back. My battery is good, 12.8 100ah lithium with bluetooth. This trip with a lot of wind and spot locking I had 47% left. Most trips have been in the high 50% range left. I fish full days. Being lithium and can use is it all up, no problem ...

Redemption at Cap 3/27

After my outing 2 weeks ago, and seeing a lot of people hammering ‘em at Cap, I wanted to get back out there and get another chance at it. The wind was blowing pretty good early, and it made things a little tougher than I was expecting early, but got the first fish within a few minutes of hitting ...

Back to Cap 3/27

Didn't lose time this time. So the aliens were busy else where. My first stop no topwater, but started getting them on a short leader dropshot and senko. The spots i hit on Tuesday did not pay off as there mouths were sore. Had to find new areas, where they would bite and that is not a problem right ...

I didn't realize until yesterday that it was the most I have caught there ever. Old number was 38 from years ago.

3/31 Cap

Made it out earlier waiting for gate to open. Weather was cloudy, drizzle and windy. I thought a chatter bait would work, first cast got slammed and it came off. Then nothing. No jerk bait fish. But the DS and senko was on fire. While others are hitting big rock piles, I was hitting the stuff in ...

El Cap 3/29 and 3/31

Hi all,

Here’s a quick report of 3/29 and 3/31 at Cap:

3/29: I dragged the jig around some rocks first thing in the morning and found a great bite. I managed to start the day off with 5 fish in the first hour with one weighing 4 lbs. even, another weighing 3.75 lbs. and the others weighing around ...

Fishing over the last few months for me.........

So moving away from San Diego a couple of years ago has changed the type of fishing and accessibility to water has changed drastically. I get to go to the lakes whenever, light, dark, no matter. Parks pass gets me everything and a vessel pass for the year. Fishing is much different in some ways and ...

4/4 Cap

Was in line early with 20 others. Mad dash to get on the water. I don't do mad dash. They are taking water again, it was down a foot from Tuesday. The day started off slow and pretty much had company where ever you go. Took me a while to figure out most had pulled out a bit 10' to 20'. There were ...

Eastern Sierras September trip

Overdue post.
Took my boy, who has now outgrown me, on our annual Sierras trip. Instead of the usual Tuttle Creek/Mt. Whitney camp out, decided to head farther north to Big Pine and Lower Sageflat campground to be in the trees, and it did not disappoint. Weather could not have been more perfect ...

Camped there last month. There were plenty of trout most small. Small cast master and drop shot.

PB Trout

Went out last weekend to Santa Ana River Lakes and got this beast on hook up bait. I don’t really fish for them and this beat my previous PB by 6lbs. It weighed 8.32lbs. Super fun catch on 2lb test!

Oregon Brown Trout

Took a 2,500 mile road trip pulling the trailer to the Cascade Mountains and everywhere in-between. Had a chance to fish Diamond Lake, about a half an hour from Crater Lake.

Took out the kayak and it was windy. Sucks because it was glass the evening before, but that's the way it goes when you want ...

Utah Vaca

Made I way around Utah not much fishing but did hit strawberry reservoir and provo river for a few. Strawberry was hoping for some cutthroat, only rainbows. Could catch them all day if you wanted, nothing big. Weather got cold and rainy with snow not to far off. Went to provo river resort camping ...
