Re: All set

All that Bling and no Force Fins? Like a Ferrari sitting on Steel Wheels!
P.S. - My buddy Rick, tired of me racing off onto the Sunset, bought some real nice Copies on Amazon for $70.

Re: All set

Only if you run out of batteries, My Hobie is pretty zippy. It’s hard to see but there are “tons” of dry storage in each tube plus a Tupperware box clips on top of each tube.

Re: Motorizing a float tube.

Wife got me a Bixby for Christmas. She went big and got the Angler Pro kit. Will be mounting on my PDL 106. Have a lot to learn about it (opened last night. We were on holiday). Will get it registered this week. Hopefully can get it done at AAA.

Re: So....Hover Rigs....

I have used them and with light tackle and caught bass. It is one of my "reaction baits" I talk about in my fish reports. I have not used
them too often, but I can see that with more use they can be pretty effective. I like the way the bait stays basically horizontal
which mades it more like an ...

Re: So....Hover Rigs....

Vinny,

There was a day when something like that yamamoto bait was working better than anything else on the spotties in the Cays. I didn't have 'em...but a kayak guide's client was killing with 'em. I swapped him some of my other baits for a couple of his, and I caught spotties 'til the baits were ...

Favorite Ned Rig now

I have done quite well on traditional Ned rigs (weedless and exposed hook) in the bay and at Barrett. But I needed something more weedless and really like the swinging jig style baits. So here is what I used yesterday:

Main line: 6 lb mono
Swivel to main line, this catches grass that is floating in ...

Re: Favorite Ned Rig now

"Swivel to main line, this catches grass that is floating in the bait or can attach to braid" should be "Swivel to main line, this acts as a grass catcher and is used to join to braid if that is used as the mainline".

Re: Favorite Ned Rig now

Sounds like an awesome day, thanks for sharing all your tips! I honestly haven’t thrown the ned much but I’ve been planning on messing around with a ned bait on a jika rig, it’s certainly the time of year for it. I recently got a tube and plan on hitting the bays soon, so maybe I’ll see you out ...

Re: Favorite Ned Rig now

Welp, looks like i’ll be fishing the bay tomorrow. Definitely trying this rig out (only needs skirted weight and its same rig Dannicus likes), but it’ll be slightly different because of the terminal tackle I have on hand. I’ll report back. Thanks for sharing!

Fishing Partner lost

My long time fishing partner had to move for business which leaves an open spot on my small fishing boat. Fish both the lakes and sometimes sd bay. Im retired so I go almost every day. But if someone wants to tag along or share expenses the company would be great. Just pm me.

For old times....

Been a stranger lately, but c'est la vie. Hope B was good for the junkies, the junkies in progress, and the new folk this season. It truly is a special place for numerous reasons.

Re: Are the bass schooling on bait yet?

Will go first but know there will be varying opinions…yes the bass WERE schooling on bait a week ago. The recent cooling trend had them deeper with very little surface activity. The bite is still good, just deeper. My time references here (days on the water so far) are April 7 (Share Day), May 11th ...

Re: If Could Only Bring Three Baits…

Don’t think I have ever brought less than 10, maybe 20 types of lures to Barrett. I would bring more but there is only so much room on a float tube.

I was rigging my rods up for this Wednesday when I thought I would show some of the lures to my wife. Upon seeing the rat, she said “that’s ...

Barrett Lake record

I forget it’s been awhile, but what’s the record bass here? Does anyone know of where it was caught? We’re not trying to catch but need to settle an argument. I don’t know where it was but my buddy says it was caught at Becky’s Cove?
