First time at Murray
Took the float tube out at Murray today 8/07 from about 9-1. Saw lots of busting fish when I first got my tube in the water and caught two Dinks on a small paddle tail. Had my flipping stick so I decided to go flip the tullies for the next few hours for nada. It was a fun few hours.

Re: First time at Murray
Hey, glad you got out there and gave it a go.
I stopped by the lake for a few minutes to look around and did not see really anyone much fishing. There was a guy across the lake on the point in a float tube …maybe that was you? Murray is an interesting lake and sometimes everything works out well ...

Re: First time at Murray
When the water was higher, probably three years ago or more ago I caught a lot of bass flipping. I would flip Tokyo rigs 90% of the time deep in the tulles and did pretty well over the years with plastic worm or craw trailers. But ever since they lowered the water and never raised it back up I just ...

Miramar, not as remarkable but...
Hey all,
I got to head back out to Miramar for a couple of hours 2x this week. I just wanted to get on the water and decompress. If I got bass that would be a bonus. Both days ended with only 3 fish each. I guess for 2-3 hours of fishing that isn't that bad. The water was down a foot from the last ...

It's not Barrett 8/8
Went to El Cap today, pay at the gate early. Many others there also. I knew going in I could even get skunked. No top water bites, no chatter bait bites. Switched up to throwing DS and texas rig worm at the bait being chased. I had 8 by 8am. Now at Barrett this year at 8am at least 30 most of the ...

Re: It's not Barrett 8/8
The rocks by the boat ramp use to have fish all over, now nada.
On another note I'm sore today from rocking and rolling from boats zipping all over. Barrett doesn't have that either.

8/11-Murray Micro fun?
I ventured over to Murray with my kayak this morning as today was going to be the only day I could fish this week. Water levels at Murray is up and down every few days now as I stop by the lake often and check it out at the boatramp. What was a foot or two above the average level last week which was ...

Re: 8/11-Murray Micro fun?
Why you making fun of small jerkbaits?
Nice job!
It was fun having those bass bang that thing and can see how much fun you have throwing them.
And of course I only used a small one to have a better chance of catching those little buggers.
You have proven time after time that jerkbaits don’t ...

Re: 8/11-Murray Micro fun?
In my book a fish is a fish. What size Gunfish And Jerk bait were you using?
Vito, just recently I bought a few Gunfish 75NF because of the success a couple buddies have had.
I have never prior to that thrown one that small, but I think it does better at matching the bait(shad)
that the bass ...

Re: 8/11-Murray Micro fun?
Man I’d take a single 4lber over big numbers any day! I think I was referring to Mcfish when talking about double digit days lol he puts up numbers! I bought a few spybaits last year and have been forcing myself to use them cause they were pricey, lots of casting but it’s fun when I get bored of ...
