Re: First time in the tube! Murray 4/6

I got my first float tube in 1981, and still doing it. Had a bass boat, inflatable dingy, kayak, and I just keep coming back to the tube. With the Bixpy motor underneath it I don't even have to worry about the wind. To me, it's the perfect fishing platform. That having been said, even after all ...

El Capitan 4/12

It was a quality over quantity today at El Cap. I only caught 4 fish in a whole day of fishing, but all were over 3 lbs (based on my old analog scale). A ton of fun on ultralight BFS gear for sure.Image

Re: First time in the tube! Murray 4/6

Sounds fun but I got a family commitment this weekend. A day off fishing means I still have a relationship.... although.... No I'd better do the family thing 😂

It was pretty fun! Can’t wait to go back to Hodges. Got a puncture in the tube (crankbait got spit close to me and the back hook ...

Re: 4/15-Murray-Fishing deep session

Had some success in deeper water recently and especially on my last trip to Murray, so I decided to just fish deep and use reaction baits only. Despite the late start(looked like like rain this morning), I ventured out away from the shoreline even though it looked inviting. I searched for shad ...

The Cap is producing quality!

I had so much fun at El Cap last week I decided to go back today. I caught 9 really quality fish and 1 dink. All were on BFS gear and tiny jigs or a T-rigged tiny Brush Hog.

I tried throwing a full sized spinnerbait at some of the many busting fish, and some crankbaits too, but no takers on bigger ...

Most amazing thing at El Cap 4/22

Went to El Cap yesterday and caught 6, unfortunately they were all smallish clones but one thing happened that made the trip completely worthwhile.

I was out in my tube, when I found myself in a giant ball of shad. They were banging into my float tube, legs, and fins. Then, all of a sudden the ...

JWall wrote: Tue Apr 23, 2024 9:28 am More proof at how stealthy tube fishing is. I used to marvel at how close I could get and still hook a fish. And not that I was still either. It’s like they just accept the mass submerged in the water nearby. Boats another thing altogether.

Belly Boat, have not heard them referred to as that in a while. Love it!

Sounds like the shad were spawning. When I have experienced this, there were eggs stuck all over the back of my boat and motor.

Good stuff!

The Murr 4/25

It was a little chilly, overcast and windy, but the bite was decent. Caught 6 in the 2-3.5 pound range. The damage today was done on BFS gear and watermelon 1/8 oz. Keitech jig, paired with a 2 inch Netbait Paca Chunk. I fished it bouncing along rocky bottoms as well as casting it to the edge of the ...

Big'un Hodges 4/28

Caught several clones and this behemoth at Hodges this morning. My scale sucks but definitely in the 8lb range. I debated on going to Otay today as it's much closer to me. I'm glad I chose to make the drive! It was great to see Pourboy out there too. Good times!

Re: New PB from Sutherland

Nice!! You know, I've lived here since 1984, and never fished Southerland. Maybe it's time. I don't know the lake or area. Maybe sometime I can meet up with one of you guys "in the know"?

Otay trifecta 4/4

Nice to meet CorsoEnthusiast AKA Jeremy and his brother at Otay today. Both class acts, and I am looking forward to fishing with them in the future.

Myself, I ended up with 6 bass, a dozen or so bluegill, and 4 crappie. I scored the trifecta as Jeremy put it lol.

Hey Dannicus great job as usual. Was playing with the idea of hitting Otay tomorrow but the weather might get in the way. Anyhow I was looking for some recent intel on what’s working but guessing it’s your usual weapons. Thanks for posting!
