Miramar 8/1
Well, I certainly don't have Miramar all figured out like VinnyBass , and Pourboy , or the rest of you pros. I managed 6 fish over 7 hours, but all were clones, and man I really had to work to get them.
I got no love at all on cranks, jerks, flukes, frogs, or anything that swims. All 6 fish came on ...

Re: Miramar 7/1
Last time I fished Miramar I got that awful SKUNK smell all over me, so in my book you did well, the last time I able to land six Bass was at Lake Jennings that was a couple of months ago.
I noticed there’s never any one posting from Jennings, do you ever fish Jennings I never here from any of ...

Uh yeah...8/1 Darn that old timers brain lolPourboy wrote: Mon Aug 04, 2025 3:39 pm Great job, man! I went there yesterday for a couple of hours with only 3 to show for it. A much different bite than the week prior. I did hear the fish giggling at me as well. By the way I think you mean 8/1 for the title, correct?

Re: 8/4-Mixing it up at Murray
I have the same disease man. Since I retired I fish 3-4 days per week (shocker I know). I like changing up baits, even if something is working. It's fun to see what I can get em to take. That's not to say I haven't totally ruined a good bite doing that though lol

El Cap 8/5
I've been seeing all your posts about the El Cap bite. I decided to give it a try. I managed a mere 6 clones in 7 hours. All of them looked pretty much like the one in the picture. Musta come from the same litter.

Murray 8/8
Some of the bigger fish are starting to hit topwater walking baits at the Murr. I caught 6 early morning TW fish then it basically shut down. I picked up a few more on a jig pitching the edge of the tules and points. Total was 9, with the biggest going 4.1.

Sunday 8/10
My 3rd ever trip to Barrett courtesy of Dfishin who sold me his ticket. Headed out before dawn with Pourboy , Early release , and CorsoEnthusiast . Always good to see those guys. I had planned on staying with Chris and Dave but after landing a couple of early fish in the dark, I lost them pretty ...

Re: Sunday 8/10
Great to see you guys out there. It sure made the morning go by quick telling our stories. :) Next time we need to bring breakfast.
I tried to force topwater and didn't get a lot of fish on it, I think plastics and jigs was the thing to use yesterday. They seem to be hovering a bit offshore in 15 ...

Re: Sunday 8/10
You know, it's like Pourboy said yesterday when we were leaving; people sometimes hear the stories about Barrett, and think you just have to throw in a line, and you'll catch a bunch of fish, but that's not necessarily true. You still have to know how to locate fish and apply good techniques to get ...

Re: BFS Sucks
Now that I have been fishing with BFS I fight myself to use my normal rods that work curtain baits better. When using my regular stuff, it's like is this rod even going to bend on a hookup (They do). The BFS stuff has helped my tired hands and the fights are so much more fun. It's my new norm ...

El Capitan 8/12
Had a really fun 18 fish day at The Captain today, but I had to go old school to get them.
Started off on top with 2 on the Gunfish. Then I switched to a jig and got a couple more. Then the bite just stopped, so I tied on a pegged Texas rigged Trick worm and evidently that's what they wanted!

Re: 8/11-Murray Micro fun?
Yeah @Mcfish I've been working on him too. I even loaned him a BFS rig to try out, but it reels left handed so he couldn't get the hang of it. So who's the real sissy here lol.

Re: 8/11-Murray Micro fun?
"I guess I should be clearer, on a jerkbait do you use straight braid and on worms or craw baits, if you use Flo or mono on topwater I thought that they both sink so why wouldn’t you use braid as it floats, sorry about so many questions but you consistently catch fish and I’m appreciative of your ...

New tube ordered!
I finally pulled the trigger on a new float tube from Netherlands called Float Plus. Bladderless, dropstiched floor and seat, undermount motor ready, and they are installing the fold up wheels for me at no additional charge.
Of course I'll still have to glue on my fish finder mounting brackets ...

Re: New tube ordered!
No it means it is built like a white water raft. No insert bladders which are covered by a nylon case zipped around them. Like a modern tire on a car...no inner tube.DarkShadow wrote: Thu Aug 14, 2025 11:27 am Bladderless? Does that mean that it's permanently 'inflated?'

Re: New tube ordered!
Are they throwing in the stand so you can show it off at the lake? Haha. Looks nice. I like the bladder less concept. Easier to locate and fix a leak while on water. Must be some heavy duty material. That black might get hot in the sun, I rattle can some blue/white camo on it. Deflect some heat ...
