Got in some new lures from AliExpress I'm excited to try out. 3 tiny topwaters, a 2 inch mini glide bait, and a small bluegill crankbait.
I've actually owned several of the Japanese counterparts to a few of these, and on the surface at least, these seem indistinguishable. I am actually impressed ...

Re: New lures
This one was $4.00 and it seems really good. Of course I won't know for sure until I get it in the water tomorrow.Early release wrote: Mon May 19, 2025 11:00 am That glide bait looks great. I have a small glide bait that just dominates, but it's $40, so I don't fish it enough, because I am worried to cast it.![]()

Best day so far 5/20
Best day of the year so far at Murray. Caught a dozen fish, and all but two of them were over 2 pounds. Plus three nice ones, a 3.2 pounder, a 3.7 pounder and a 4.3 pounder.
It isn't the most fish I've caught at Murray this year but definitely the most quality. All on BFS gear.

Wasn't gonna post but ...
After some quality bigger fish yesterday it was back to clones at Murray today. I actually wasn't going to post, but I just had to share a picture of this pretty clone I caught. The picture doesn't really do it justice. It had the most beautiful golden almost orange tone to it. Very dark and vivid ...

Re: New lures
It won’t be long before you only own one half of that little glide bait. Ask my son. Most of the time, the differences between the quality baits and knock offs will in weight transfer systems/weighting, materials/construction, and the hardware used. They might copy the mold and put a nice paint ...

Murray 5/23
Rad day at Murray. I stopped counting at 30 fish. Lots of bass in the high 2 pound range and 3 fish over 3 pounds. Also caught the biggest bluegill I've ever seen. Fat as hell. It's mouth was big enough for my scale and it weighed in at 2.54 lbs.
So much fun, it almost makes me regret leaving on ...

Re: Murray 5/23
I don't know what it is, to me all those sunfish and different kinds of bluegill all fall under the broad category of "bluegill". It does have sort of crappie markings to me though. It sure was big.

Re: Murray 5/23
Great job out Dan!
I a so curious to know is how many times do you circle the lake? I have watched you cover the whole lake fishing along the shorelines. That is really smart thinking because you’re covering so much area where most people just hit a handful of spots. The more areas you cover ...

Surprise catch at the Murr 5/27
Had a great 28 fish day today at the Murr. Almost all fish came courtesy of a BFS crankbait. Most of the bass were healthy in the 2+ pound range with 2 of them over 3 lbs.
However the biggest surprise of the day was a nice slab crappie. I fish Murray an average of 3 days per week for the last 3 ...

Otay 5/28
I had so much fun catching that crappie this week I decided to panfish Otay. It'd been a while since I'd done it and man was it fun. I caught 12 sunfish/bluegill a long with a bunch of bass. All the fish fell victim to a Megabass Griffon crankbait.
The highlight was a massive 2 1/4 pounder. I ...

First ever!
Spent the first 3 weeks of vacation camped at Cottonwood AZ. Took day trips to the Grand Canyon, Tuzigoot, Montezuma Castle and all the surrounding monuments and towns. I never did locate a good spot to launch my tube so I didn't fish for 3 weeks.

He's Back =D Congratulations on the first SMB! Now you know how much harder they fight pound for pound. Keep live it up my man!
It really did fight harder lol. I've been hoping for a striper too, but to be honest, I have no idea how to fish for them so .... But who knows right? Maybe a striped ...

Last Day of vacation... SUCCESS!
I found a pattern on Lake Mohave my last day here. I got on the water at 3 am, and immediately headed to rocky areas I identified yesterday. I was casting weedless craw baits on to the bank and bouncing them down steep rocky banks.
Ended the day at 11am with nine largemouth and one smallie. Most of ...

Re: Last Day of vacation... SUCCESS!
Love to see the ones that don't quite fit in the picture! Great work.
Haha yeah my selfie arm is only so long... VinnyBass once suggested that I change angles sometimes to break up the monotony of my photos, but there is only so much room on my float tube, and with arthritic shoulders I am ...
