Decent topwater bite early this morning at the Murr. It was overcast for the first hour and they were busting everywhere! I managed 7 early then the sun burned off the fog and everything basically stopped. Caught 4 more out deeper after the sun then moved toward shore.

I am a bit disappointed ...

You did better than me! I got 3 gunfish topwater clones and a couple of real dinks on a tiny popper. It was a tough one for me. Maybe I need spoon and blade lessons haha.

I had a decent morning yesterday at the Murr with all 6 fish coming courtesy of small 1/8 oz. Z-Man chatterbaits.

Well the pattern changed. I went back on Thursday and couldn't buy a jig bite of any kind lol. I did pick up a couple out deep on a 5" paddle tail fished on a Damiki jig head. Nice job Vinny. You're always on fish brother. Murray has been kinda up and down for me over the last week, so I think you made the right call for sure!

I keep maybe 1 out of every 100 bass I catch but I don't feel guilty about it either when I do. I like em beer battered or on the smoker. I just really prefer the taste of filet sized bluegill or crappie so if I am fishing for dinner that's what I'm usually targeting.

I still throw them. I've cleaned up on tiny brushhogs and a pegged 1/16 oz bullet weight. I Texas rig them on a #2 light wire hook and throw them on my BFS gear. Actually there were a couple dozen boats out. Probably a dozen kayaks, and 3 or 4 other float tubers besides us.

The topwater bite went off for a couple of hours today at Murray. Pulled in 8, all of them looked about the same. Nothing huge but still a ton of fun.
