Back here at Pelican Lake in northern Minnesota with my buddy Scott for our annual angling extravaganza. The first day started out cold and windy but the afternoon was nice along with the fishing. We got about 45 largemouths and smallmouths between us with most of them nice three pound chunks ...

Took my oldest son float tubing at D&K. Awesome day. My son is just now getting the fishing bug at 35....but he's still really new to it.

He ended up with 7 and I caught 16. Several were caught on walking topwater baits and poppers, a few on a crankbait. After the topwater action slowed, the rest ...

Just got back from stopping by Murray. Just to confirm that yes the water will be lowered to the point where the boat ramp
will be out of service as I spoke to one of the City workers there. At the moment, the water is right about where it was on

I know it's definitely known as a murky water color. Seems to be a go-to in Florida. I had some success with it when I used to fish the Delta years ago, but it seemed like when I moved back to SD it didn't work as well for me.
