That’s a nice cat! Caught a few of those on cranks at El Cap. Great fight but kind of disappointing after a minute or so when you realize it’s not a huge bass on the end of your line

It was fun watching you fight that thing! You da man as always. I caught a couple of fours this week and later that same day I finally tied into a 6.5 pound bass too! The bigger fish seem to be hanging around more up shallow which is great for me in a tube.

Took the tubes out to Cap this morning. Mother’s Day had the lake pretty empty early! Only a couple of boat trailers and my brother and I in the tubes.

Immediately started throwing my favorite bladed bait around shallow brush. Got the most action where there was brush in the back of cuts and coves ...

Got out to San V with a buddy at around 6:00. Went along the shoreline near the launch with topwaters but nothing wanted to come out. Then started cycling between dropshot and brush hog. Managed to stick a few small ones on both rigs. Got my biggest of the day being 3.6lbs at the very beginning ...

Like @VinnyBass I figure you are all tired of seeing my Murray posts. Still, I thought I'd share a couple of pics of a decent bass and a large bluegill caught on consecutive casts with the same bait. Fun!

Very nice. Looks that big bluegill hasn't come up shallow enough to get much color yet.

Some Otay morning action in the tubes today. Brother and I have effectively starting calling it “FLOATay” because it’s such a float tube friendly lake. Lots of good spots to launch and fish there. Every trip I’ve taken down there I’ve encountered quite a few tubers as well.

Not sure you were BFS’ing on those two beauts but I finally got my Ark BFS reel you ...

I was fishing my Ark gravity BFS on a Dobyns 701c. I have a new favorite rig. It's a #2 light wire ewg hook. I Texas rig it with a 1/16 oz Nako bullet weight which I peg it with a couple of bobber stops above and below the weight. I usually keep the weight about 1/4" away from the hook.

Quick morning session on the float tube at Hodges on Sunday. Ended up with five on the drop shot close to shore. Decided to make my first trip out to what is known here at “the lake of D&K” in 30 years this morning. As fate would have it, turned into an SDFish party out there!

I only fished till about 10am but ended up with 5 landed and 3 lost. Worm fish all of them except for one.

Will definitely return ...

Wow, what a fun morning.

That lake looks familiar! Who named it that D&K foolishness? (I did) I got 8 bass and a crappie. Mostly on a jerkbait. Got twin 3.28 lb fish on a gunfish. Those were my biggest. Almost cold a couple of times.
Cannot imagine a world without Sutherland open on Fridays!
