San V 3/4 Epic morning

I’m really bummed I have to go back to work next Monday. The last two have been really good to me at San V. Last week I got the 7lber and today I boated 27 (no BS, I have pics of most of them).

The bite started almost right away this morning. Messed around with a chatterbait for about a dozen casts ...

Lake Hodges: How many fish can I lose in one day?

Lake Hodges Fishing: How Many Fish Can I Lose In One Day?
https://youtu.be/FKoe7PF1Ow0

Hey all here’s a late report from last Sunday at Hodges. I said out to just enjoy having a day on the water. It ended up turning into something bizarre. I worked down the shoreline and ended up missing a couple ...

Re: Lake Hodges: How many fish can I lose in one day?

Hey...your tough day of lost fish brings back some crazy memories, but at least you did have highlights of the ones you caught.
I know it is not the same and it is impossible to figure out how did so many fish came off and why. I beat myself up when I lose
a handful or a bigger one for several ...

Last Hurrah, San V - No Words

Ok Boys. I honestly don’t know if I have the words to describe the day I had today.

This was a day that will likely live with me forever! I can honestly say that I have never experienced a day like I had today, and that includes fishing Barrett years ago when it first opened back up!

I don’t ...

3/8 El Cap

After heading to San V and realizing they were closed we decided to do the next best thing which was El Cap of course. Neko rigs and shaky heads were the baits of choice today. I ended up with 5 keepers and lost just as many with two breaking off at the boat that were well over 3 lbs. My parter ...

Hodges report March 9

Hi all,

Hodges was very nice today. Got out in some really cool fog early in the morning and started on my way. Almost instantly I got a sample size bass on a crankbait that was very ambitious for a fish of his size, he wasn't the only sample size fish I got, I had a couple, they don't figure into ...

Re: 3/8 El Cap

Was down there this morning. First moving bait action of the prespawn for me. Lots of hungry chunks! Only had a dropshot rod in my hand for about 4 casts LOL

Re: San V...must be Monday!

Damn it was killing me to be at work yesterday and not on the water!!! Glad to see someone got out there and had some fun! Lots of 2lb males up shallow all around the lake right now. Makes for a fun day of fishing 😁

Hodges report March 13

Here's my version of what Hodges was like today.

Got to the ramp there around 0700, which feeeeels late, but really isn't. No wind at all and light cloud cover. Water temp was 61F. It was pretty well attended this morning too, there were a good number of folks for a weekday. Chuck and I headed to ...

Lake Dixon Today

With a little boat surgery, got 2 today.
Missed one pickup.
All on drop-shotted pumpkin Kreatures.
Got a chance to cruise the shoreline for the first time this year.
No well defined beds yet; but some smaller males are hanging around shallow developing beds.
Today's catch was all in about 20' of ...

Re: Spring fishing at the fave

Nice job out there again.
You definitely have that lake pretty
darn wired and looks like you are having
lots of fun. Thanks for sharing your
adventures and always love the pics.
Tight lines :-)

Thanks Vinny! Get to learn the lake all over again from a float tube now!

Hodges Report 3-16

It was a slow start but ended up with 5 fish...not bad for my 1st outing of the year at Hodges...I threw a bunch of stuff early, first trip...lots of off season tackle purchases. But the first fish was on a texas rigged baby brush hog.

Then I tried more of that and got ...

Hodges report March 17

Made it out early to Hodges on Sunday morning, which was no small effort, since I was celebrating a friend's birthday the night before. Got on the water and it was 60.5 F and there was that really cool fog over the lake so you couldn't really see very far. It was a very nice day on the water. I got ...

Re: 3/18-Calm before the Storm

That low pressure sitting to the east of us has brought some wild weather to the East County. Not sure how long it will be parked there? It brought hail and 1/3 of an inch or rain to my place on Thursday. Not as much today, but the winds out of the east were pretty strong.

Thanks for sharing and ...

Nice fishes! You wouldn't have wanted to be on the water if the thunderstorm we had would of headed your direction...wise move getting off the water!

Re: 3/18-Calm before the Storm

Nice work on those fish. I always get a bit nervous being in a kayak before a storm, that's good commitment on your part.
