Re: Tiny jig has been killing it at Murray.

Big fish hunting is a totally different mind set. You have to be willing to go out and not get bites, or maybe only one or two bites in a day. For me, I just have fun catching fish, big or small. I just enjoy figuring out the bite and setting the hook into a fish.

It takes a certain type of ...

Awesome day at the Murr!

Had an awesome day at Murray today. I got 5 and my best mate Randy got 2 (his first fish from a float tube) All of them were quality bass! We had a great day.

San V 1/25 Really good day!

Here is your weekly Thursday San V report. To quote Ice Cube “ Today was a good day”

Ended up boating 16 today. My best numbers there in a while. When I got back to my area I immediately saw a couple of fish breaking in the bushes, which I haven’t seen in a few weeks. Ended up getting 6 in the ...

San V 2/5 Looking for Noah

After listening to the local news last night I headed out this morning half expecting to find Noah and his Ark out there to avoid the flooding!

Pretty sunrise this morning and only two other boats out when I launched and according to the worker at the ramp they left fairly early so I was, literally ...

Crawdads vs. Jigs: Which Will Catch More?
https://youtu.be/aooAO1DD0OE

Hey all I hope you’re staying dry. Headed out to El Capitan this Sunday and decided I would fish crawdads. I used to love fishing crawdads and haven’t done it for a while because many of my old crawdad holes no longer hold ...

Re: Crawdads vs. Jigs: Which Will Catch More Bass

In my experience, the reds get bit way less than the greenies. They do get bit but not the preferred bait. I bet if you had non red and armored dads, you would have been bit. Did you try releasing the claws on the dads? That can help with getting them bit. I’ve done the experiment you did many of ...

Re: Crawdads vs. Jigs: Which Will Catch More Bass

I swear I remember as a teenager finding out that Sam V had craws with totally different colorations than the typical red/black and green/browns. I can’t find anything about it online as it was so long ago/ As far as the red vs. green/brown, to me it’s far more of a “red flag” if you will. The ...

Re: Hand fishing for bass

[/quote]
not sure how much money you would save....or if you would actually spend more. First, you need to buy land that contains a pond, or build the pond yourself. Then you need to stock the pond with bass. Then you need to get them used to a particular feeding routine near your dock. Then ...

Re: Hand fishing for bass

I would keep a watch over it on weekends for poachers for Vinny. I would set up my float tube in the middle so I would have the best view.

El Cap evening bite

After waking up and relocating my new fish finder from the bow to the console I decided to give it a spin at El Cap which has been my nemesis the last few trips there. Fished from 1-5pm. Wind had already picked up so it was fun trying to work a spot on my crappy trolling motor(can’t wait til I can ...

El Capitan 2/13/24

I usually fish Murray on weekdays because it is conveniently located by my kid's school. Murray, however, is closed the second Tuesday of every month so I ventured up to El Capitan.

It was an absolutely beautiful day. I ended up catching 4 smaller bass and this bruiser. The small bass were hitting ...

Lake Dixon - Thursday's Observations from a Bass Guy

Observation:
#1. Skunked from shore.
#2. Water level is lowest I've seen in at least 15-years (subject to change any day or week).
#3. At least for now, there is some level of increased shore access.
#4. Viewing the lake bottom to about 10' from a pier, seems a bit early for my fellow bass folks ...

Murray is heating up.

The bite at Murray has really turned on as the bass move into pre-spawn feeding.

I caught 13 over the last 2 days. Most were in the 2-3 pound range. They are feeding on the he bottom. I caught them on ned rigs, jigs, and 7" dropshot worms. Keep your bait close to the bottom in 15 to 20 feet of ...
