Re: Had to Ask - SD County Golf Course Bass

I love the motivation, drive, enthusiasm but lets be realistic here.....
Having a hard time walking the terrain of our local reservoirs @ 70+, but you're climbing fences with gear, & running from the sheriffs...

If I do a little tresbassing, I’m a criminal…But if I wanted, I could walk out of Albertsons with a cart full of stolen groceries with no consequences and be a TikTok hero.

El Cap to end the year

Happy new year bass anglers!

Spent the last weekend of 2023 out at El Cap. On Saturday it just felt like even though the shore bite has been really tough recently, the rain and being 3 days post full moon made me feel like there was a chance to pick up some quality bites.

That hunch paid off. We ...

Fishing with my son 1/2

Took my son Nathanael ultralight fishing today at Murray. Caught 7 dinks and one nice fish between us. He had a blast!

We were fishing tiny Brush Hogs t-rigged with 1/32 oz bullet weights. Casting to the rocky banks and the edges of the tullies and dragging them back. It was a relaxing awesome way ...

San V 1/8

Got on the water a little later than usual this morning, launching at about 8:30 with the air temp a crisp 32. Made for a very cold first run! Ended the day with 7 with the biggest only 1.68lbs. Don’t take any pictures because I was pulling them up from 55-60ft so it was unhook and get them back in ...

First of all nice job out there Moose. Catching bass in the winter is always rewarding.
And always fun to see your fish reports and pics.
Speaking of pics.......I fixed your original pics and if you go to these sites posted on SDFish, it might help you with future pics

Tiny jig has been killing it at Murray.

I've been absolutely killing it at Murray. Fishing my BFS setup with a 1/16 oz Keitech Mono Spin jig paired with a Z-Man 2.5 inch TRD Crawz. Both in green pumpkin. I must have caught 20 keeper sized bass in my last 2 trips.

Re: Tiny jig has been killing it at Murray.

Nice job! You’re doing better than anyone I’ve talked to there in the last few weeks. Skunks and one fish or two fish is the best I’ve heard. Guessing small baits is the key to success. Thanks for sharing and tight lines. :-)

And I know you're been catching some. You were landing one just as I ...

Re: Tiny jig has been killing it at Murray.

The small stuff works but if you want the Big Girls, throw them some meat. The Females will suck down Crawdads to get calcium for their eggs, mostly though, they will eat any meal that is easy to catch. A minimum of effort. They are slowed down by the cool water. If you were to dive down(I have) and ...

Killin' em in the dead of winter. I have some very similar jigs that I've been meaning to try out there.
