Re: 11/27-Back to the SD River
Never saw the original report. For it to go from 20min to. 40min window does seem convenient. Unfortunately there is only one person, possibly two, who truly know of this is legit or not.

Re: 11/27-Back to the SD River
Look how long Mike Long got away with things before technology and social media took off.
That's my point exactly. With the advent of having 4k (or 8k depending on what phone you have) recording available in the palm of your hand, and social media being able to have live broadcasts, why on earth ...

Re: 11/27-Back to the SD River
I get that but I don’t ever have video going when I’m fishing. Pictures? Yes. Video? Not usually unless I have my son or daughter with me. That part doesn’t really bother me. I guess maybe a cideo of the release (at least) would go a long way to corroborating the story.

Re: 11/27-Back to the SD River
If your phone can take a picture it can make a video. Would of been just as easy to film it laying there dead as taking a picture of it.

Steelhead are a local fish, chinook are not. It's kinda like catching a lmb then saying there must be smb here.

Re: Turkey Day in the desert
Part 2 today. All small ones except for one tank. Initially I thought the fish was a Smallie based on its’ shape and size of its’ mouth but it has a lateral line and markings like a Largie? Also has a connected back dorsal fin like a spotted bass, although I’ve never heard of Spots being caught out ...

Starting to feel alot like Winter....
You can't tell winter's coming by the daytime temps, but at 6:30 out on San V...I was feeling it! Air temp started out at 42, water temps 60-62. A nice little breeze out of the east didn't help. I was expecting some breaking fish, but found none after an extensive search! I brought out the dropshot ...

Re: SD River-Dec. 5
Good job! Those River fish are plump! At least you're on the water..better than sitting at Dennys, eating strawberry crepes! Dropshotting 4" Robos and you would of caught a couple dozen....all 6lbs....hahahaha!

Re: SD River-Dec. 5
Nice job on landing a few. I was out there Sunday morning watched about 100 cormorant birds flying inland, then a squad of 20 of them landed in the pool I was fishing.
Figured the ones going inland had a taste for freash trout, the ones that landed by me were clearly hunting chinook. I took it as ...

San V 12/4 and picture help
Been recovering from shoulder replacement surgery so it’s been about 6 weeks since I’ve been on the water. Hit up San V yesterday not knowing what to expect. Was surprised to see so many fish busting shad between the bushes and the shoreline. Made it very hard to get a bait to them. The fish that ...

Bass fishing at Murray 12/6
My son won a Caddis float tube earlier this year at the Cuyamaca kids fishing tournament. Since we already have tubes I gave it to my best friend Randy, and bought him waders as an early Christmas gift. We had a blast fishing Murray this morning.

San V 12/7 totally different day
Today was a totally different day from Monday. Not nearly the amount of fish busting shad in the bushes but there were still some sporadic boils. Fished from 6:30- 3pm. Not a lot of bites but the quality was good. Ended up with 9 in the boat. Best 5 went 14 1/2 lbs. Things were totally backwards ...

Re: SD River-Dec. 5(Updated Dec. 9)
Lots of dinks there during summer. Spring rains time I have caught a few bigger ones, nothing really worth bragging about other then the spot it was caught at.
Kumeyaay Lake is where I suspect anything there comes from. Can't say I fished that lake tho, only times I been there the lake is fully ...

Go to bait
What is the one bait you turn to when you just need to get a bite? For me it’s either a 4” Senko T rigged weightless or it’s the old school Fluttercraft worm on a drop shot. I feel like I can always buy a few bites on one of those two baits. What’s yours?

Is that a lil' Brownie? I had forgotten about those. Caught a 7+ at Lake Ramona on one of those!

Re: Go to bait
A couple of Winter/Springs ago I could not buy a bite until I put one of these on. I actually got 36 fish( and I swear I am not exaggerating that number) during one trip to San V during an early spring trip on those worms dropshotted. Nothing big but lots of fun 2lb fish.

Re: Go to bait
It's even in my picture, I am almost always throwing a #7 Silver Rapala first. I try to play about with a couple lures each trip out to just get more adaptable, but you can bet if I am fishing, my light spinning rod with 4# or 6# test mono and #7 Rapala are with me. #2 favorite is a popper, either ...

Re: Go to bait
Two easy answers for me.
6” roboworm on a dropshot
Megabass Vision 110 Jr + 1 (or any of the 110 family jerkbaits, they all get bit)
Both of those are in my 5 “desert island” baits, along with a white spinnerbait, a 10-12’ diving crankbait, and the 5” Slim Senko.
