Re: Best Huddleston/ big bass lake in SD
He may be talking about Jim Henderson who was a local legend. Equal to Murphy. I used to sit and stare at his living room wall as a child that was floor to ceiling, left to right with teener mounts. Mostly Otay

Re: Best Huddleston/ big bass lake in SD
Jim died a few years back, but the legend lives on!
I'll upload his advertisement when I get settled in to Washington.
Jim used quite a bit more than just his home poured worms to pull teens out of Murray, but I'm sure if he wanted you to know what he did or how he did it, he would have told ...

Ridiculous...I'm getting blown off the map in Ramona, and you're fishing glass in La Mesa! I believe I deserve credit for talking you into fishing this morning!!! I'll also take credit for you catching those two fish....and not being blamed for you losing that fish! Good job Mr. Vinny, nice fish! I ...

Fall Fishing El Cap

Re: Best Huddleston/ big bass lake in SD
Been doing nothing but saltwater/offshore for the the last decade plus after being a strict bass fisherman and I wanna do some Huddleston big fish fishing this winter with my calico gear. Which lakes still get trout stocks? Which lake would I have the best chance at 8 + pounder on a big trout swim ...

Turkey Day in the desert
Took a little trip out East to the land of the Canals today for an afternoon session.
Had a blast! When it’s good out there, it’s just so much fun.
Managed 10 or so largemouth and a couple smallmouth, including my first 2+ (don’t laugh, I’d never caught a Smallie until a few months ago lol) and ...

Re: Ultralight fishing at Otay
That looks like an excellent setup. I love ultralight fishing, but to be honest I really don't like spinning reels. Especially on ultralights. I am fishing 6 lb. Braid to 4 (or sometimes even 2 lb.) flouro carbon leader, and I am constantly having to fight line twist.
Yesterday I had to cut out ...

Advice plz!: Headin to The River
I bumped into a gentleman recently while fishing my go-to, (hike-to) San Diego Reservoir. He told me to go check out fishing around Blythe as he loved it there once the weather cools off. He grumbled off names that sounded like Aha quin, Waterwheel, and Rancho Not-so-Grande.
If anyone has any ...

Re: Advice plz!: Headin to The River
I’ve got no Blythe knowledge (I’m sure there are many here who do), but you can find smallmouth in the imperial valley canals much closer to SD. Look for check gates and drops in any of the canals on Google earth and you are in good shape to find fish.

Re: 11/27-Back to the SD River
I figured you were running down to look for more Salmon…..
No salmon in the SD RIver. Heck they could not survive a day in that water....ha ha
That's not what the story says that goes along with that picture...

Re: 11/27-Back to the SD River
Hmmmm...I spent a couple summers guiding on the Klamath River, never saw a Chinook with that coloration! Maybe that's what the S.D. river does to you! I think at one time, all the California River's had some sort of Salmon and Steelhead runs. I know Camp Pendleton had steelhead.

Re: Local Pond hopping
Yup! I think this is my spot too. I just pulled a lipless crank and a chatterbait from the tulies. By chance were those evidence of your presence?
