You could always cast it, then sit on your rod but and dead stick it. Ive caught two at Murray doing that while throwing a glide bait in my hobie.

I tried also.....
and he charged me $20 to let me know he was using 8lb test on one of his rods.
Then another $20 regarding baits to let me know that he has a favorite color Roboworm but only told me ...

Good to see you out there on Monday. Even fishing near you I hooked up on a drop shot, but she came off, in fact all 5 bites I had yesterday came off the hook. Gonna have to change hooks. Great job out there actually boating 23 bass! I'll be back next Monday. Maybe I can tie a line to your boat ...

Made a quick trip down to El Cap yesterday after work - arrived about 3:30pm to howling wind and whitecaps that made casting a challenge. Water level is down several feet from my last visit and the dried out slime from all the moss is covering the first few feet of bank.

I went the whole session ...

Tight lines

I said last week that it seemed the bite at Sutherland was stirring. That judgment was premature! The bite, it seems, is again cold as ice. At least it appears that way to me and a couple of friends who will remain nameless unless they choose to chime in. Between us we caught 4 fish. Overcast early ...

When o when will that lake turn back on. Glad to know the shad were spawning, sounds like a spinnerbait will start to work again early in the morning. At least you caught something, no fun getting skunked. I went twice last month and only got two bites, one of which was in the parking lot.

Ok, I'll chime in! Every week I think it's going to happen...and it doesn't! The lake is actually still coming up even though they say they're still taking out 25mgd!!! The lake looks so good and everywhere you think there has to be fish..they're not there! I fished deep, shallow, flipped brush ...

Rented a boat at San V today and a fellow SDFisher joined me for the morning. Some froggy looking water but no bites on either the frog or the buzzbait. Water is pea green soup from the grass scum - not just the surface, it’s throughout the water column in places.

Plastics were the goods again ...

Hit San V avoiding the tournaments at El Cap all weekend. 21 caught and released before 10am. Was sunny and warm as we left. Small plastics split shot were the ticket for us.

SDFish is back and Vinny Bass is still a Slayer. All is as it should be. I been doing the same….
