Re: Local pond always a confidence builder

Nice job out there. Fishing small bodies of water are fun, especially when you catch nice bass!
Thanks for sharing.
Tight lines. :-)

Re: Murray 11/4

Awesome! Can we get hot baits in BFS section?

Haha
I can't tell if you are being sarcastic, but I will if you want. I didn't know if people were even reading posts in that section.

Dan, you’ve been awesome on sharing your personal BFS information which is fantastic and shows what a true ...

Re: El Cap Nov 2 report

Awesome! I’m at the gas pump right now and heading down.

I'm guessing you mean the 7/11, just a quick recommendation, after our fishing day we ate at the Mexican Restaurant in that complex, it's excellent and really well priced.

Very highly regarded with the locals, glad you tried it ...

Re: El Cap Nov 2 report

Hi Vinny, I pretty much only can get a couple things there, and pretend I'm still a vegetarian although it's a pleasant fiction since the bean burrito or tostada is full of pork lard. I think it's legitimately good. Can't believe your circuit for fishing. I need a nap after a morning fish session ...

Nov 12-Quick River trip

Was on vacation and between doing lots around the house have not been fishing much. Yeah caught some dinks the week before last at Murray, but nothing to get too excited about. Since I haven't posted for a while, I decided to post a quick report from fishing the SD River this morning. The water has ...

Re: Nov 12-Quick River trip

What the heck kind of rig is that on the senko?

It is just a weighted Gamakatsu hook

with a senko.....and I forgot to take off the sinker stop off the line from the last bait on that rod. Nothing weird. Just me being lazy since I throw a lot of Texas rigs so I always leave the ...

Re: Topwater dwindling off

Missed three weeks of top water fun as I was working in Italy. Got some at Otay last week and today at Miramar had some more topwater action. Absolutely a gorgeous day with only one other boat on the water.

KillinTime wrote: Wed Nov 12, 2025 9:20 pm That second one look chunky. Way to go!

Those weighted hooks are super versatile. They work real good in the kelp too.
Don't use the weighted hooks that often, but it makes the senko a little more weedless as a
Neko rigged senko gets hung up a lot when
flipping into heavy cover.

Re: Topwater dwindling off

Fish otay today. Noon till 4:45 PM. Started out calm and after about an hour got white caps balance of the day in Harvey’s. 61° but with the wind, it felt like 50°Threw the lipless, underspin, super spook for Nada. Went to Old Faithful, gunFish and got four blowups and landed three.

Very nice ...

Re: Murray 11/20

Nice job out there Dan.
Actually my last couple trips (one a while back and recent yesterday when were there) were pretty darn tough. I threw so many baits in those 2 trips that I could have broke a count clicker if I clicked on it every time a different bait went into the water. You actually are ...
